So who has a good range of aliens that
I can use to fight a near future Earth force?
Looking for a decent number of poses, a few vehicles,
command, special troops.

Humanoid? Non-humanoid? Insect?

Khurasan, Critical Mass Games have self contained lines of troops and vehicles. GZG, Rebel both make some great infantry ranges but not sure if there are dedicated vehicles yet.

Open to any, just asking for a little diversity in troop types and vehicles.

Khurusan, and Blue Moon are the ones I have primarily and are some great figures. There are also 15mm.co.UK and my old favorites, RAFM figures.

You can use the Cephalods from Black Hat's Martian Empires game. several troop types including a flyer, plus two dedicated vehicle types.

I have put together an army I call "arachnobots." Essentially an all robot army, all with an insect/multi-legged look. I use figs from a variety of sources including Malifaux (they have a little spider kinda thing and a bigger one) plus Imperial Crabs from 15mm.co.uk and other spider/crab looking bots.

I'd go with Khurasan, Rebel Minis, or Critical Mass. The problem with Blue Moon is that they generally only have one pack of each type of alien, so there isn't any depth to those lines.

Raptors.

Of course they have a way to go, particularly in the vehicle area, but the aliens in the Yan'drassi Invasion Force Kickstarter look very promising: link

I'd mix Bluemoons Velta Reavers (5 infantry poses, 2 heavy weapons, 1 command per pack), with vehicles and a few special troop types from Ravenstar's the Horrid .

LoudNinjaGames,

Are the Space Raptors related to the ST Voth?

Just curious,

Dan

LoudNinjaGames10 Sep 2014 5:49 p.m. PST

Nope!

Always felt the Voth were a nod to the Silurians from Dr WHO grin

Lion in the Stars11 Sep 2014 9:35 a.m. PST

I'd go with Rebel Mini's "Grays":
