I agree! – the best way to post is to imagine you are in the middle of a football stadium full of all sorts of people and children.
You have a microphone so you can be heard by everyone!

Another good rule is an old one, 'Those who shut their ears to a shout, may strain to hear a whisper'

And of course 'The Golden Rule' 'Treat others as you would wish to be treated'.

I am the first to admit, though, I sometimes fail to take my own advice!

Amen, brother!

An excellent post.

The kids are the future of wargaming, without new recruits there is no future.

If a youngster see's something in here that's not appropriate, we could lose that recruit!

This wouldn't be the internet if we thought before we posted.

Can you give some examples?

Weirdly enough the editor deleted the faux posts in that thread as well as the feedback caused by them. One would get the impression that feedback isn't welcome either.

But I wholeheartedly support the OP.

What is "this"?

We always delete (or snip) the follow-on posts, as they don't make sense once the offending post is deleted.

Well said, General.

Well said General.
I'm still thinking how awful it would have been if my kids had seen that image presented as part of a sick joke on a certain other thread.

would have taken a lot of explaining Aubrey – let alone why some people found it funny.

Cyclops11 Aug 2014 11:11 p.m. PST

To be fair, only one person found it funny. The rest roundly condemned it. As I said in the original thread it restored a little of my faith in TMP members.

well, two – the 'can't say the word here' who posted it, and the bigger 'cannot say it' who commented on it being funny. I'd not seen any posts by the former previously, but I wouldn't expect less from the latter. Yet nothing.

Nothing? We took the photo down, and spoke to the person who did it to make sure it wouldn't happen again. That seemed sufficient to me, especially given it was a Sunday morning and I had very limited time.

Oooooh! "Found it funny!" LOL!

Crime of the century!

I would expect nothing less from those with an agenda.

Pretty sure this has MORE to do with hatred of said "person who find it be funny" than the faux outrage directed at the post in question.

I mean, one poster in particular here just won't give it a rest.

:)

Could be wrong, but I doubt it.
