"Ignore button" Topic

Since this was implemented, I am no longer getting the summary list of posts in the Homepage. I haven't ignored everybody (or even anybody!)
What is going on?

it seems you need to ignore someone, to allow you to see the rest of the home page.

A well tested feature…

Seems like the obvious workaround would be to pick a random "sleeping" account (plenty to choose from) and Ignore them, at least until it's fixed.

I saw the site on implementation, no problems.

I just "Ignored" someone for the first time ever and his topics are still spamming my front page.

Ignore the chap who goes by the Nom de Disgust beginning with "Phuk". See if things come back.

I see nothing. Sounds like a bug to me.

Maybe only people who have other people stifled are having a problem ??

The front page works like a blood sacrifice now. Think of Agamemnon sacrificing his daughter so that gods will provide the winds so his fleet can sail. It is something like that, in that you -have- to ignore someone for the page to work. Go for it. Sacking Troy is worth it. Just be careful on your return to the loving arms of Clytemnstra.

I haven't ignored anyone. Front page looks normal to me.

OTOH, I have been Ignored*, but I don't see how that would affect my display.

Tried stifling/unstifling and ignoring/ unignoring random people (sorry if it was you!). The front page is still not showing the 400 posts it should do. Thanks Tango haters, your little vendetta has fouled things up for those of us who actually select which posts we want to read.

Just "ignored" someone and front page now has summary of posts again. Now going to "unignore" and see what happens

Unignoring resulted in loss of Frontpage post list again! Had to ignore another random member to get the list back. This is *******g stupid.
For debugging purposes I am running Safari on Ios7 iPad and ios5 iPhone. Problem is on both. Not tried my Windows Vista machine yet.

And now someone has ignored you, steamingdave47. Isn't this fun? It is like egging a house, in a sedentary, peevish, geriatric kind of way.

Wasn't working at all for me, I "ignored"someone who totally deserved to be ignored, now it works fine

Had this issue last night and today. Since I've ignored someone it's working for me now.

On a Toshiba Thrive tablet. Didn't try desktop to see if it had the issue too.

Not ignored anyone; can't see any topics.

I have ignored no one but have been ignored.

Interesting I just went to check my profile and the 37 stifles I had are gone and now replaced with 4 ignores. I think I may like this new feature even though I though it was silly and not needed. I do not mind being wrong however.

Yeah, steamingdave – I really don't know why I picked up so many cooties. I didn't type the half of what I've thought!

In Member Settings under Interests I selected everything and that brought the topics back to the front page. If I deselected anything, they went away again.

I have not stifled or ignored anyone. I can't see threads on the front page. And going to the front page is really SLOW. Bill, fix this. I'm a paying customer. I imagine advertisers aren't too thrilled either.

I did what CeruLucifus suggested and the front page returned to normal. I turned on all interest areas in my member settings.

A posting by someone I have ignored is still visible on my front page. Same experience with both firefox and chrome. FWIW, it's the top topic – not sure if that would make a difference or not.

Yep, turning on all interests brought it back. Rough couple days on the coding front…

Another one with no problems with the front page and no one ignored. Just lucky, I guess.

I have ignored someone, it was working great, but this morning I can see their posts. I am using Chrome. I have not reset any interests.

I'm having the same experience as Buckeye. Iggy worked fine at first, but then it didn't. Tried turning it off, then on again: no luck.

According to the front page, the Ignore function is disabled right now, presumably so Bill can correct the unintended consequences.

Is it meant to working be now?
