BUT, while enjoy seeing boobs and stuff as much as the next guy why all the posts of nude women just for the sake of posting nude women? A certain member seems to post just because he can
most of the time the figures he puts up have no gaming value at all. 80mm? Come on
my rant of the day
(I know if I dont want to see his posts dont click the link, yadda, yadda, yadda

If it goes under the appropriate topic "NMB" I have no problem with it. I clicked on one link while on lunch break that was not under "NMB" and if anyone had seen it

Actually you can solve your problem by turning off this very board. I havenīt come across any that were not on it. I suppose cross posting may be the culprit if it happens. Perhaps Bill could turn off cross posting for this board. |

Yeah, just like TV
if you don't like it, turn it off! |
RavenscraftCybernetics | 24 Apr 2014 5:44 a.m. PST |
If not sounding like a prude was your intent, you have failed miserably. Turn the board off if you only want wargaming related posts. This isnt the wargaming page. It's the miniatures page. |
Allen57 | 24 Apr 2014 6:01 a.m. PST |
The webpage subtitle is "A Web-magazine for Miniature Wargamers". It does not say A Web-magazine about Miniature Wargames. Some gamers NMB though I admit having this board is kind of like some of the old mens magazines from the 50's. They had a pinup in them though not the Playboy magazine level of nudity. I agree, don't look or turn it off. BTW I am a prude when it comes to female wargame miniatures. C'mon guys oversized boob and chainmail bikini's are ridiculous on all those warriors as are nude amazon warrior figures. |
20thmaine | 24 Apr 2014 6:07 a.m. PST |
And the NMB page is subtitled "For discussion of the anatomy of miniature figures." But it isn't really, is it ? It's just women and it's just nude or near nude. (there may be a minor number of exceptions, but I hope we can all acknowledge that the trend of the NMB board is as described). |
Stepman3 | 24 Apr 2014 6:14 a.m. PST |
I dont mind the nudity and I dont want to turn this board off, it has guided me on several occasions to finding the right figure
but to post a miniature nude that doesnt have any playability in wargaming seems to me a waste
how many have played a game using 80mm nudes women? |

Go to: TMP link and you can click on "Needs More Boobies" to make it invisible on your home page. Problem solved. In Comcast sales, I call that "parental controls". |

Dear Stepman 3 How many have played a game using 80mm nude women? I'm trying! I'm really Trying! I have a large collection of Ezzex Follies 80mm figures, Midnight Mascott, and others. I keep working on the game
but
I get distracted. I can't think why
. Seriously? SERIOUSLY? Can there be a seriously on tis thread? Look, if you want to look at boobs and buns and pubes then one can surf the internet at a porn compendium that will give you all you want enough to glut your senses. No greater evidence of this is with the demise of the adult book store. Once, (like Buffalo) they roamed through the landscape by the thousands, now they are all gone, driven to near extinction by internet porn. I don't like them, never went to them, but it is an indicator of the availability of images of boobs, and buns, and pubes. We like these things not because they are excellent representations of B&B&P's but because THEY ARE RIDICULOUS! YES! of course they are naked and undraped women. But as was said in another thread, the absurdity of the armor and the outlandishness of the weapons is really a parody of miniatures with the same things. You really don't have a porn site going here-- you have a burlesque show, with the figures presented as exactly in the guise of the burlesque Diva's who parade before the stage. Some of them are excellent artistes like Dita Van Teaee, and some of them are horrible renditions like some skank at a truckstop bar. Men like naked women with a come-hither look. These miniatures are made, and since the latter IS made, we have the option of viewing them and evaluating how well they've done just as any other miniature. Frankly this has become my favorite site by default because there are no psyho's on here endlessly debating if Napoleon was a demon or an angel, weather Sam's Rules are the best thing since sliced bread or the worst thing since the black plague, over who has the best and most realistic rules, which figures are true 28, or what the color of the Inspector ID tag was on the bogie wheels of a Panzer Mark IV in 1943. I get to look at something nice and pretty, usually, and get a happy chuckle too. I think your problem is that you're on the wrong list. I think Bill should make a new list I HATE NAKED WOMEN OF ALL TYPES AND BELIEVE ANYONE WHO LOOKS AT THEM SHOULD BE SENTENCED TO TEN YEARS OF SENSITIVITY TRAINING IN A GENDER THEORY COURSE. Please join it.. |
Stepman3 | 24 Apr 2014 7:41 a.m. PST |
its not about blocking the "Needs More Boobs" from my page
I like looking at BOOBS, hell they're two of my favorite things
its about the random posts that have little to do with wargaming. If the post were about nude Amazons, Slaves, Hoplites, Barbarians
whatever. Then I can see the point or value. But to post a pic from the Verlinden site that has nothing to do with the hobby, I dont see the point. It's not even mentioning the paint techniques used
I dont or rarely see anyone posting their own pics of nude figures from their collection
that would be of some value

OSchmidt | 24 Apr 2014 9:12 a.m. PST |
It's a hobby. If I could figure out how to post pictures (tried, can't get it) I'd post my own painted female figures. I suppose by your rationale, persons with 54mm or 80mm figures of soldiers would not be relevant because they aren't wargame figures. So if you REALLY like to look at boobs why are you getting your knickers into a twist about this. just enjoy. Methinks you doeth protest too much and you really don't like boobs at all. But don't worry, a friend of mine and I are working on a new project. It's a "Charlies Angels" game, from the old television series. The game is where the Angels are dropped on top of a New York Skyscraper by their own "simple little black heliocopter." The skyscraper is the headquarters of an international terrorists organization. The Angels job is to wipe it out. The game will be played on a huge model of the skyscraper 10 ft tall, with panels that open to reveal the interior or the rooms and offices. The figures used will be "Barbie Dolls." But the heliocopter pilot made a mistake. He dropped them on the wrong sky-scraper. It's not a terrorist cell at all, but the location of an exclusive swanky New York Sex Club. The girls have to get off
umm
get out of the skyscraper some how. Just think of the fun making the equipment and costumes for the Barbie dolls, dressing and undressing them
. The Rack Room, the orgy pit
etc. All the things like "Bad Sophia" and "Carla" and the rest of the 80mm figures you despise can be props and "terrain."
There you go. Part of a game. Completely justified. I'll probably get sent to the dawghouse for this. |
Stepman3 | 24 Apr 2014 10:28 a.m. PST |
your right O Schmidt, I dont like boobs
. I never once said I despise the 80mm figures and weren't the first wargames played by HG Wells of a larger scale? So no Im okay with that
;) |
javelin98 | 24 Apr 2014 10:34 a.m. PST |
Just don't look, man. I'll look at them on your behalf. It's the least I can do. |
jowady | 24 Apr 2014 11:53 a.m. PST |
Personally I hope that there is some link between the post and mini gaming. Of course that can be sort of broad ( no pun intended) and admittedly since most of what I do is diorama based I have found some figures based on recommendations here. I'm currently working on amulti-era Tavern set and let's face it, you at the least need some bar maids and maybe a "dancer" or two in the background. I have another project though that will require one or two male nude figures. That's life in the big city. Some of what I see here bugs me, most doesn't. If a certain individual's posts bug you well that's what the stifle is for. Or just don't open the thread. |

( link ) I like the board just fine, Never have anything to add to it, but I like the eye-candy |
Mugwump | 25 Apr 2014 7:16 a.m. PST |
The board just reflects tastes in the miniatures industry. Look at the male to female ratio of miniatures and how many are dressed in fetish gear. |
jowady | 25 Apr 2014 10:06 a.m. PST |
When all is said and done you can write volumes about the social impact of scantily clad or nude figures. The reality is that it doesn't matter. People a lot smarter than us have been trying to get a handle on it forever. If it offends you, or this board offends you don't look. I am always amazed at the people who complain about this board yet obviously read this board. |
etotheipi | 25 Apr 2014 3:43 p.m. PST |
how many have played a game using 80mm nudes women? My hyper-atomic 20' ex-girlfriend is about 80mm. Scantily clad as the radiation only affected living tissue. As are my scantily clad (for a different reason) male cyclopses. And many of my robots
who are tragically miunderstood and just want to be human
awwwwwwww. <snif> <snif> And as far as my HeroClix converted giant amazon army
well
you just tell her she doesn't have game
Photo blocked by adult filter: "" Far from me to sound like a prude You don't sound like a prude. You haven't objected to artistic nudity in wargaming figures in any way. You have objected to figures based on the fact that they are not useful to you from your view of gaming and you feel that their presence here doesn't contribute to the way you see gaming. That isn't being a prude. Beyond the actual use of 80mm (or so) figures in wargames, I find the artistry, posing, composition, and milieu references of some of those figures extremely useful for my own projects, even if those will not be in the same scale. I find other ones a waste of time. Same goes for pictures of other figures posted on other boards. Some I find useful in various ways and others I don't. Honestly, I wouldn't miss any of the gory zombie stuff an iota if it went away. I just don't think my utility and personal preference is the only yardstick by which to measure their utility to the group. Nothing wrong with asking the community if any class of post merits censure, however attribution of motive upon the poster and accusative language like "Come on" doesn't make for a constructive inquiry. |
