I've heard many bad stories about ordering from New Wave, but they have their miniatures at such discount prices that I really want to buy from them. Does anyone know if they're a good company to deal with anymore? |

Use the search function to check these boards, this was discussed just a few days ago: link link IMHO you'd have to be crazy to order from New Wave. Just dig a hole and bury your money, it will have the same result. |

P.S. thats an older link, but use the search and you'll find dozens of negative references over the last few years. Also look them up on the BBB website, they have quite a bad record. Personally, they screwed me out of about $30.00 |

There are plenty of other online retailers out there. I prefer Neal at The Warstore. Great prices and quick service. I ordered some minis from him last Sunday and I had it in my hands on Wednesday. If you see something you like on NewWave, go to the manufacturer's website and find out who you can order from. For some manufacturers (Hasslefree, Heresy, and Spyglass), I prefer ordering direct from them. |

Don't do it! I know the prices look great and their sleek, picture-laden site is seductive, but you can find decent discounts from very reputable buyers who will actually send you your purchase. In addition to the Warstore, you might want to check out discouthobby.com (also called Dragglestown), offering 10-20% off many popular lines and free stuff with most orders. Good luck, and resist the Dark Side! |

Neal at The War Store and Elton at Dark Basement have become my recent favorites, both have good prices, great shipping policies and OUTSTANDING communicarions. |

Use New Wave to get some nice pictures and figure out what you want, and then order somewhere else. |

Tha bastards ripped me off for about 80$ three years ago. I've learned my lesson - Brookhurst hobbies is my mail order joint of choice these days (or just direct from the manufacturers). |

LOL @ Andy Cowell! Yeah, based on the feedback on this board, I wouldn't bet money on their having improved. Best bet is to get someone who lives in Atlanta (I think) to drive over there and pick up the stuff for you. |

Just send the money my way. The net result will be the same for you (i.e., out of your $$$ with nothing to show for it), but I'll at least be happier... :-) |

War Store or Dark Basement - that's who you want. |

Check out good retailers. The extra money you spend will be worth the peace of mind: Brookhurst Hobbies DoOrDice.com Discount Hobbies Those places I have done business with repeatedly without major incident. Give them a try. New Wave will never get my business. |

I suggest your local store. If there isn't one, I haven't had problems with New Wave - but would still recommend Brookhurst or the Warstore. |

The couple of times I've ordered frome Newwave, I have had no problems. But, most of my business goes to either Fantization.com or Warweb.com (one for fantasy and sci fi the other for all my historical needs....except for Foundry stuff). |

How is this business still open? I thought the USPS prosecuted mail fraud pretty severely? I would think no shipping stuff ordered online would qualify for that. Confused. |
JasonAbels | 22 Nov 2004 6:06 a.m. PST |
The business is still open (presumably) because they do a large volume of internet sales which makes up for the customers they've burned. I only recently found out the bad rep that New Wave has and I've been ordering from them for a couple of years now. I've never had a bad transaction and they only held up an order once because they didn't have the figures in stock. Now I'm a bit more wary about ordering from them but my wallet gets the better of me from time to time and I have yet to be disappointed. Because of all the talk here though Warweb.com has been getting more of my business lately than NW. |

"ust dig a hole and bury your money, it will have the same result." You're even better off burying your money, at least you can dig it up and get it back. |

New Wave has always had great pricing for miniatures, but their reputation is still a turd pile. |

I prefer Fantization.com, The War Styore of Brook Hurst for my personal fix, but Steve at Fantization has been the easiest for me to deal with over the past 3 or 4 years. |
