It has been sometime since anyone has mentioned anything about the quality (or lack there of) at New Wave Games. I am wondering if things have imporved there? Last summer I ordered a few Inquisitor figures and during the summer my folks ordered some Inquisitor figures. New Wave charged my parents order to my credit card. We tried to reach someone there to straightened things but to no avail. They paid me for the balance that was incorrectley charged to my creditcard David Peters |

I haven't heard much from New Wave Games either but it appears their webpage isn't being updated as often and most of the updates have to do with their perpetual "painting contests". I'm still bitter about the money I lost and hearing how they screwed up your credit card order only vindicates my position of "look but don't buy" with New Wave. |

I'll second that opinion... |

Check the yahoo groups minidealerdiscussion group for the latest news on New Wave and any other on-line dealer. link There was a recent thread about NW. |

Well they still owe me a heresy vampire lord which I ordered and paid for in mar 0f 2002. They won't respond to emails or phone messages. I feel that it cost me $8 to find out that they are the biggest crooks going, a mistake i'll not repeat. |

New Wave...AGH! I won't bore you with the details (unless you are interested), but dealing with them was a nightmare. I just (finally) got them to refund my money after them not getting figures for my order. The process took a total of 4 months from the time I ordered to the time they finally refunded my money. I will never order anything from them again. |

I will never deal with New Wave again. I recieved all of my order, but it took quite some time and hassle. You only get one chance. If you don't deliver, you will not get my repeat business. A year from now, they could even become the "best dealer around", and I would still not deal with them. You just cannot treat people the way that they do. I just found it funny that at Origins they did not even have their name anywhere on the booth. I guess they knew it was in their best interest. Also, they were just as helpful in person as they are online. Granted, I did not buy, but I did look. If I am incorrect, and that was not them at the con, please let me know. I am 99.9% sure, but I could be wrong. |

Stay away from New Wave. My last order was missing a mini and I emailed and called to have it sent to me. They never sent it. I finally decided it was best to cancel some preorders which they had charged me upfront for, and had to threaten them with creditcard fraud to get a response and refund. I'm still bent about the missing mini, and I'll never deal with those incompetents again. The "CEO" David is too busy running around taking pictures of mini's at tournaments/conventions, instead of taking care of his business and his customers. |

Well I guess that answeres my question on New Wave Mail Order. I was planning to order some things. But I decided to get some feedback if things have improved there. Apparentely not. David Peters |

I've bought from them *in person* at Origins and Gencon and they are friendly and helpful, and this past summer even had big boxes of discount figures in their booth. However, based on the years of repeated stories like the ones above I doubt I will ever mail order. |
deanoware | 23 Oct 2002 12:55 p.m. PST |
Belphegor. they were at Origins and Gencon. As I have always told others if you are really serious about suing them I would suggest waiting until around July or August and then simply serving them with the papers in person at one of these cons. David Doust is the dark haired, almost Asian looking guy at the booth. |

Sigwald! "Well they still owe me a heresy vampire lord which I ordered and paid for in mar 0f 2002. They won't respond to emails or phone messages. I know for a fact that Heresy doesn't deal with New Wave any more - it's distributed through Brookhurst Hobbies and Albino Rhino instead! I reckon you aren't going to see that Vampire Lord - contact the credit card company and get them to get your money back from these b^&*^%&ds!

Has anyone ever had a good experience with New Wave? |
The Lost Soul | 23 Oct 2002 4:45 p.m. PST |
I just got an e-mail shipping notice from them. I haven't ordered since May. I guess they're finally shipping one of the backordered items? |
Rogzombie | 23 Oct 2002 5:20 p.m. PST |
I've heard from the horses mouth that they are no better with their vendors than they are with their customers! No wonder they are losing vendors. |

I too got cheated out of money and product by New Wave. I am only owed about $25.00, but it is the principle and the hassle that I have gone through to attempt to get satisfaction. I have sent around 5 e-mails and made 4 phone calls and finally I received a sort of reply after I asked for a full refund. I explained that the item I ordered from them (which they had placed on backorder)was readily available from my local game shops the whole time. Eventually I got tired of waiting and purchased it elsewhere and thus wanted a refund. Then and only then did they e-mail me saying they were sending the product that week. I e-mailed them back saying not to send it, but to give me a refund instead. They must of gotten my message because they did not send the product, but they did not send a refund eigher. I think that it is time for gamers cheated by them to assemble a class action law suit and stop their reign of theft. |

If you go for their clearance items you'll get them because they have them in house. If they split your order you can forget about the second half ever arriving anytime soon. I got items from them that I actually forgot that I ordered. I would recommend staying away. You're better off supporting your local game store. If you need to order online then I highly recommend Brookhurst Hobbies...I've had nothing but GREAT service from them. |

I agree, Brookhurst Hobbies is excellent! |

I originally ordered from New Wave, because they were (at the time) the only place I could find the Rackham Confrontation figs. Like some of the others, they would charge my card for a full order and only ship the ones they had on hand. The other figs would be split into another order and put on "backorder status". They promptly shipped any figs they had on hand and any accessories like paint or carry cases I ordered. I've had no problems in that regard. Eventually, I have even received figs that were backordered that I'd forgotten about. I understand now, that they don't allow an order to be placed if it is unavailable. I've had reasonably decent dealings with them, but was slightly miffed that they charged me for all figs, even those not available. Eventually I got them, but it still stuck with me a bit. All in all, I'd go with fantization.com until New Wave works out its distribution problems. |

My friend still hasn't recieved a Vor Union Seargent that they said was on backstock. What are those lawsuits that involve many complaints such as this? If anyone starts such a lawsuit, I do believe many people will jump in to support. I don't mind shutting down such a large online retailer, it may hurt the industry a little, but frankly it's far more important to remove cheats from the industry. |

Sorry to tell you all this, but I placed an order with New Wave about a week ago and got the stuff today. I don't want to brag or throw salt in the wounds, just state a fact. I will still only use them as a last resort because of what everyone has said about them on TMP though. |
Nukuhiva | 26 Oct 2002 5:19 a.m. PST |
It is very unfortunate that I have to join the chorus of complaints about New Wave, they do have an awesome array of hard to find stuff and a cool site, but you better hope that everything you order is actually right there and in stock, because if there's the slightest problem with your order, you are . They still owe me a Fenryll dragon - not the cheapest of models at $58.50 USD - I ordered in January(!!!), and none of several emails, phone calls, and even a letter with delivery confirmation have been replied to in all this time. The last address I have for them is in Alpharetta, GA. Don't bother with their phone number (770) 753-0606, they'll just tell you that they are 'returning calls, leave a message'. They haven't returned mine.... |

I "snipped" the address, Nukuhiva - it's no longer valid, and leads to a person not directly associated with New Wave. |
