How would you build an alien base in Antarctica? What would it look like? Would you make a dome, a pyramid, or would you try some other style? How should I know? I'm not an alien! At least I don't think I am |

I am an Alien and – if you think I'm going to break ranks and tell you where our secret base actually is you are very much mistaken

A secret base should be just that, a secret. It should blend in, so for frozen landscapes a general dome should work. Ignore those arrogant Draconians that would build a huge freaking black hexagonal tower armed to the teeth. With a large rail cannon at it core capable of launching ships into orbit or taking ships out of orbit. (I've put way too much thought into that one) |

if you're. a repitilian why would you stay in Antarctica, surely would of moved somewhere warmer (Florida, California, Australia) and put the human skin on, noone ever be able tell difference from humans on those areas. |

perhaps these reptilians operate best at near and sub zero temperatures

I've always felt white castle burgers were staging grounds for aliens
just look for the one in Antarctica and whamo u've found the secret base! Chariots of the gods man Google earth blocked it
just ask georgio tsutlakos* ancient alien theory supports the white castle reptaloid conspiracy! |

If I was a reptilian I would guess an under the ice dome(s) mounted on or in the land mass with several connecting tunnels and chambers to above ice caves and underwater sub bases. The main dome would have drill holes through the earth's core to a magma level for both thermal power and heat. |

The 'secret' base in Antarctica is a trap! IT'S A TRAP!!! The real base of power is in Madagascar. And don't forget the lounge lizard infiltrators of Vegas

Years and years ago I was Googling "serpentmen" in search of information for a Conan/Kull game. That's when I first read about Reptoids. To this day, I can't believe some people take this stuff seriously. Now, for gaming purposes, that's different . . . Given advanced technology, I'd make it underground with geothermal heat and power, or possibly cold fusion. With less tech, probably a series of low domes (to better withstand the storms) served with nuclear power. I think a pyramid would "catch" too much wind, snow, and ice, and a single large dome would be more susceptible to collapse under the weight of the accumulating snow and ice. You could avoid the latter problem by heating the dome, but then you give up secrecy. |
Lion in the Stars | 08 Nov 2013 11:03 a.m. PST |
Domes are among the strongest shapes, structurally. I would suspect one or more domes, probably multiples of them, with a concealed upper dome entrance so that their infiltration craft can depart and return with experimental captives

Reptiles generally don't like the cold
I'd think Area 51 or the rumored Alien-US underground base under an Indian Reservation somewhere in the SW US
Funny I can't seem to remember more about that
Oh wait, it's mentioned in that second link CC posted
In that case
I know nothing ! Nothing !!! John
you may want to head back to the mothership
where ever it is
Also in a disturbing consequence, the SyFy Channel showed a new version of the "V" series last week

Yes, but when the Reptoids originally moved to Antarctica, it was covered in dense, hot jungle. Can they help it if the continents and climate shifted on them? (Which ignores the fact that continental drift is an incredibly slow process, leaving literally millions of years to move elsewhere, but anyone who believes in Reptoids in the first place probably doesn't have the firmest grasp of geologic time.) |

The Reptoids accept evolution as a fact for lower life forms, like Humans, but not for themselves.

Laugh it up, monkey boys. Just because there were dinosaurs thriving in Antarctica at one point, there's no reason to assume they survived and adapted in place. Just crazy talk. We never did. They. They never did. Doug |

it's sci-fi
so I'm pretty sure none of us "Monkies" really took the thought too seriously
But it has some "cool" Sci-fi gaming possiblities
