My friend Trenchraider is going to run a refight of Abu Klae at the Millenniumcon convention in Austin Tx millenniumcon.org/index.html I put up a battle report on my gaming club's web forum and took pics of the custom terrain mat I built specifically for the scenario. link I'll probably use the mat for 40k games after the con since it would work well for a blasted lands mat I will be running a Sudan game as well at the con featuring an Anglo-Egyptian attack on a Mahdist-held Nile mud fort. I am playtesting that next Sunday and will put up some teaser pics for it as well. Dave |

I'm not at liberty to say much about that at the moment but its a set of colonial rules Trenchraider is writing for an established company and he expects they will be published sometime next year. The game system is currently undergoing final beta testing. |

Interesting AAR, appreciate your posting it. Always enjoy seeing well painted figures fighting it out on the tabletop. The tactical decisions made by the British players were particularly interesting. As you wrote, always expect the unexpected. |

Heh
."Interesting" is one way to describe the tactical decision of our Bitish players. ;-) But to be be fair the amazing die rolls by one of the Mahdist players made a huge difference as well. But kudos to both sides for a very fun and hard fought game. I'm looking forward to running this again in two weeks at the convention. As to the rules we used, Dave pretty much nailed it. This is a set that is currently being developed for a well known game company. More on that in this thread: TMP link It's in the final testing statges, and I'm pretty excited about how it's turning out. On a related note, I lost one of my beta testers due to real world commitments. So we still have another opening for the test if anyone is interested. Drop me a line at trenchraider@austin.rr.com if your interested. Martin |
