The Hunchback is a Federal Navy fleet tactical support craft used for fleet battles, fire support for opposed planetary landings, and strike missions. In addition to its huge forward thruster, it has VTOL grav engines to permit it to hover in place, providing fire support for Cormorant landings in close proximity to enemy positions. The ideal force structure is one Hunchback for every two Cormorants -- the Hunchback immediately precedes the landers and engages enemies with its heavy armament of four PBCs (particle beam cannons). The Hunchback's LYNCH weaponry (low yield nuclear missiles) can also be deployed against targets away from the landing site.

In fleet actions squadrons of Hunchbacks are launched to attack an enemy capital ship from a different vector than the mother ship, using their LYNCH weaponry to drop shields so they may attack the exposed target with their PBCs.

The kit mounts on the base the same way as our popular Mekanoid Hatchet gunship, using a ball that mounts onto the flight rod, which in turn attaches to a hemispherical hole in the bottom of the craft, so that it may be depicted at many different angles. Landing gear may be mounted down or up -- both options are provided with the basic kit, as are the LNYCH missiles.

Here are some images of the kit, depicting Slightly Dangerous, squadron leader's ship of 90th TacSupp Squadron, embarked aboard FNS Dogger Bank:

We'll be releasing this and the Cormorant Infantry Lander in the next few days, probably early Friday morning.

Oh my… I love that thing. So many uses. It'll probably end up as a piece of spaceship terrain on my board!

Krazy Ivan28 Aug 2013 2:18 p.m. PST

Kierto28 Aug 2013 3:15 p.m. PST

Best yet! Do you sculpt everything yourself?

Eli Arndt28 Aug 2013 4:20 p.m. PST

Wow, that is nice. :)

BlackWidowPilot Fezian28 Aug 2013 5:46 p.m. PST

I like it. Just needs some twin vertical fins for some really eye-catching insignia, but that's what the sheet plastic is for in my parts boxes…evil grin

Another winner, Jon! Well done, sir.evil grin

@MrHarold
Nice picture where did you find it? Is there any other angle pictures of it?

@War Monkey

It's a shuttle from Elysium…

The art book from amazon is awesome too.

Hazza31B28 Aug 2013 8:13 p.m. PST

+1 for the elysium artbook.

Got my signed copy this week. Soooooooo good!

War Monkey28 Aug 2013 9:00 p.m. PST

Thanks for the link, checked out the vid on Amazon, have to put the book on my wish list, thanks again

emckinney28 Aug 2013 10:33 p.m. PST

I'm a "meh," but I comment only for honesty and to balance the cheering crowd. :)

Besides, what do you care? I'm not in the market for it.

Gunner Dunbar28 Aug 2013 11:06 p.m. PST

Very nice design, I think it will sell well.

Heinz Good Aryan29 Aug 2013 9:11 a.m. PST

i like it, its like a sci fi A-6!!!

RTJEBADIA29 Aug 2013 10:09 a.m. PST

Beautiful, although I agree with emckinney in a way in that its beauty is in its rugged, simple look (but well sculpted at the same time).

I could see this converted into the cockpit of a larger ship, too.

Gasmasked Mook29 Aug 2013 4:40 p.m. PST

I agree that it is not a pretty piece of kit but there is definitely some charm in its ugliness. I would probably not use it as military kit but rather a rugged civilian shuttle (that may have been retrofitted with some self-defence kit). The Outer Planets can be a harsh place after all…

Another endorsement of the Elysium artbook btw. I picked it up cheap at a charity store and there is some really neat stuff in there. I especially like the corporate logos, gangland tatoos and the Aaron Beck(?) robots. Can't wait for my Ghosts of Heifei stuff to arrive so I can start putting those concepts onto the table.

khurasanminiatures29 Aug 2013 5:53 p.m. PST

This and the cormorant might have to wait til after Labor Day weekend, because I just reopened the store and I'm inundated with orders, and I didn't even announce it was reopened!

Mako1129 Aug 2013 8:53 p.m. PST

What's the status on the alien-looking shuttle?

Haven't heard it mentioned recently.

Kealios02 Sep 2013 12:11 p.m. PST

@Khurasan, "Inundated" is better than "Out and dated" :)

TheRatGod02 Sep 2013 12:14 p.m. PST

Khurasan you said it would be back on the 28th or so in your closing post :). Didnt have to announce it again . lmao

Karaz12304 Oct 2013 9:50 a.m. PST

A month later…….

Drool. This and the Cormorant.

Let me press that BUY button

Unrepentant Werewolf 212 Oct 2013 4:42 p.m. PST

Not there yet :-(

Karaz12307 Aug 2014 3:04 a.m. PST

Cormorant is out. Hunchback?

I looooove this little tac ship.

TK 42107 Aug 2014 5:24 a.m. PST

WIN! I wish other merchants would follow this example when developing and marketing. CMG disappointed me gravely when they released their dropship and attack VTOL a while back.

War Monkey07 Aug 2014 7:46 a.m. PST

And this is going to be out when?

Cyclopeus07 Aug 2014 9:30 a.m. PST

I like this ship a lot, very nice.

Fritadas11 Aug 2014 1:59 a.m. PST

I like it as a Lambda/Sheathipede style shuttle – well armed, armored, and shielded for a light shuttle, befitting its status as a VIP transport

Karaz12313 Aug 2014 12:38 p.m. PST

Khurasan keeps silent. I understand. He has enough on his plate already.
But just an update would be great. Are we gonna see the hunchback any time soon?
I love the model

All i want to know is "How long it is"…

Karaz12317 Aug 2014 1:10 p.m. PST

Jon is back!
All rested I hope.
Just an update Jon. That's all.

And just to add my sincere admiration for the quality and ever evolving range of miniatures. I do not understand how you do it. Kudos.

infojunky18 Aug 2014 2:37 p.m. PST

Anybody want to hazard a guess to it's dimensions?

Or Heck the size of the flight base it sits on and I'll take it from there…

PiersBrand18 Aug 2014 4:53 p.m. PST

Thats deadly!

infojunky19 Aug 2014 6:24 p.m. PST

Any guesses?
