Maybe I found 15mm Slayers from Krull. Not perfect proxies, but… what do you think?

Hey that's not bad.

But when you game it, make sure you have a duplicate mini of one of your opponent's heroes – but with eyes painted solid black.

Given the age of the design (old table top games), would not surprise that was inspired by the film.

Krull…haven't heard about that movie in a long time.

I remember going to see it and thinking how friggin' cool the Glaive was.

I think that they will make pretty good proxies.

Krull is one of the few fantasy movies (though its more scifi) from that era that still seem fresh today. I have it on DVD. I think I'll watch it again soon.

Just stumbled across these 'Zonii'. Might be another possibility.

The Zonii are great but a little small and lowtech. They don't have the menace of the Slayers. Great figures though. I really need to paint mine.

And the Chaos Lords look a little, er, zoftig. ;->=

But that's hard to gauge from a piccie.

I'm just glad to not hear 'How could you suggest THOSE? They're c**p!'

Been there; have the tshirt.

Thanks to this thread I 1)remembered I still haven't seen KRULL yet (been meaning to since Homestar Runner featured the "clutch of glaives"), and 2)ordered some of those guys from 15mm.co.uk. I'll post results when I have them painted up.

Hmm, that reminds me . . . I think it's time I got busy sculpting some very similar helmets:
