Does anyone have know what the flag for Isemborg looked like? I can't find it on any of the flag sites.

The Histofig site has a description of the Regiment Isembourgh and pictures of their uniforms. It also states:

Flags
First three battalions were granted with an eagle and a flag of Challiot type, motto unknown. Regiment is granted in 1813 with a flag of new type, without battle honours, probably with the inscription :

L'EMPEREUR
NAPOLEON
AU 2ME RÉGIMENT
ÉTRANGER

I have that info, but didn't know what a "flag of Challiot type" meant. I couldn't find a description of it. Is that the 1804 issue French flag.

I had not come across the term Challiot style flag before, but when I googled "challiot flag" it came up with links to the 1804 pattern.

It IS the 1804 model, as used by the line regiments. The light regiments had slightly different scroll work.

Here it is'……

I painted my regiment some years ago and i am from the region of Isenburg in germany. It took me weeks to find it.

You have to look for " fremdenregiment isenburg".

I wrote about them some time ago on tmp

What is normay not know was that thery blue way wronly dyed and it was really a true blue or dodger blue and not a french blue.

Have fun and congrets for you choise of troops.
