I am firmly nailing my colours to the mast that Beasts of Bolsover will be releasing a range of figures for the War of Spanish Succession. These Female Imagi-Nations figures will be released come what may, but unless I have a pre order that is massive I can see these being released very slowly over the next twelve months. If I can get around £3,500.00 GBP I can release all the infantry in one pulse – and double that will give me a good go at some of the horse and dragoons too. I am now seriously contemplating Kickstarter – and have contacted sculptors about the range, and am just about to press the trigger on two test sculpts. What do you want to see in this range – realistic, or boobies in waistcoats. I would like to be able to offer a blend of both, but that would again double the minimum I would need to break even. If anyone wants to help (and looking at nobody in particular Abdul! ) with this research can they contact me, and they are welcome to update the thread. I am hoping that these Pewter 28mm will be released by May/June of next year if I meet the funding target by 1st of March. So lots of stretch goals, and lots of pledge points – some finer details to work out based on how many figures I can fit into a single spin. |

I am sure others can provide more detailed feedback, but it seems to me that the timeline seems very tight. Trying to get funding on March 1st and planning to get the minis sculpted, mastered and into production by May/June seems pretty aggressive. I think you might want to pad that some more to prevent missing the expected target and having unhappy backers. |

I hope to start the First sculpting commissions before Christmas, with over £400.00 GBP pounds committed, The range will happen either way, but much much quicker if I get a kickstarter pulse! |

Would be an interesting marketing experiment to offer both realistic and more 'generous' miniatures. My guess is Barbi-esque figures outsell realistic 10:1 Although
.maybe historic gamers don't listen to their inner 15 year old as much

28mm? Good to most, not that good to me :( Wouldn't mind in getting involved if they were to be 15mm

Although….maybe historic gamers don't listen to their inner 15 year old as much… Since such figurines are 'unhistorical', hardboiled historic gamers would ignore them anyway.. A WSS of this 'female Landsknecht'

Of course the same character could appear in various of states(un)dress, from full field uniform with weapons and equipment to… Interesting, possibly inspirational 'despite the later date of the uniforms) 'hussarettes' there: link with an in-depth study of a realistic yet eye-catching 'firing mounted 'pose link |

Hopefully in 'true' 28mm: no problem is they are slightly smaller than, say, the Minden ('true' 30mm <=> 1/57), quite the opposite: women are on the average more petite than men, and they would be fully compatible with other 28mm ranges. I know of Sigourney Weaver (and Adriana Karambeu), but generally men feel
uncomfortable, not to say ridiculous, side by side with a woman significantly taller than them. |

Will you be offering those in 1:1 scale anytime soon? |

That's the idea:

I suggest you will need twice as much money as you imagine you need and three times as much time.best of luck |

In the meantime female WSS soldiers were obtained by heavy conversions TMP link (scroll down;
Photo blocked by adult filter: "picture" oddly, photos appear on TMP only after they have be viewed on the original forum: link ) combining WF plastic WSS infantry and Amazons. Interesting, but one has to suppose (and paint) a cuirass (or soubreveste fabric false cuirass) above the coat. |
