My previous paper model templates were relatively well received, so I thought I'd continue the trend. This time, I'm making some models that are modular and stackable (like blocks). As a picture is worth a thousand words:
As paper buildings go, they're pretty simple to make. If you can assemble a box you can make these. Making a hundred of them to create several city blocks is the hard part. I tried to make them as versatile as possible, though. I also hope to add more building types to the set, but I also have more figures to paint. The accompanying article and downloads my be found by clicking on these words. |

Epic, I just went out and bought some colored plastic for making these with :D Also going to use your layouts with Foamcore so I can make something a bit sturdier. And I need to up them to 28mm scale. I appreciate the templates, hopefully my results turn out as nice as yours. |

Lesack, Have you given any thought to making templates for container buildings like these?
link TMP link I really like how the top corners are cut on those containers. Thanks, Dan |

Actually, that was (hopefully) one of my next projects. It goes along with the settlement made of recycled spaceship parts. |

I was also going to start working on multi-layer, to give some dimension to my buildings. This is good inspiration. |

These would be ideal candidates for 2mm laser cut MDF
then you could glue in plastic or card depending on your preference. A job for Mad Mecha Guy maybe? |

I considered doing that, but being the glutton for punishment that I am I cut them all out by hand. I am sort of considering purchasing my own laser cutter/engraver. . . |

Lesack, After all you have done for us already, I feel guilty asking

Hi Dan, Because I saw an ad for Ronin (from Osprey) I started working on Japanese medieval buildings! I'm also working on a paper dice tower building; it's more complicated than I thought it would be, because I also want it to double as a non-obvious dice tower when not in use. It also didn't help that I was flooded out of my apartment for a while. . . I will pull out the finger and start working again. |

Sorry to here of your luck hope all is well, I just want to say "Thank You" for sharing your work, @ CC I'm planning to make shipping container out of 1x1 wood dowels and just cover then in paper strips, one 36" dowel should make about 14, 20 footers at 2 1/2 in cut |

War Monkey, I bought a bunch of these "AMAC" boxes for just that purpose:
link I planned to add a styrene strip all around the top, in order to raise the height of the lid section to almost an inch. Then I would cover up the outside with a few styrene accents to make it look like a container. Thoughts? Dan TMP link |
