This ties in with my earlier posting on the Russian Chevalier Guard.

I haven't been able to finish all the horses for the Horse Guards. I thought I'd post one of the stands though so you can see the difference.

As you can see from the last image, the main difference when mounted is the saddle cloth. The other is the Chevalier Guard has silver buttons and the Horse Guards were gold.

Amazing job! Problem is finding a battle to throw in the Brigade, mine don't get to wet their sabres to often.

David Miniature Armies09 Jun 2012 12:51 p.m. PST

Beautiful paint job.

Love your work John. So very smooth and detailed.

dBerczerk09 Jun 2012 1:11 p.m. PST

Very, very nice! Sincerely hope to see one of your tabletop battles someday!

Peter (Gonsalvo), Thanks, I should be painting my Prussians though. I just had to paint up some horses for them after all they've been sitting there for 12 years.

14Bore, Thanks and I'll have to figure out a way to get them in a fight when they're completed.

David Minature Armies, I appreciate the comments, and thanks again.

Tim (Timmy), Thanks, I not the fastest painter but it's the only way I know how to paint mini's. Now make sure you order your Cel Vinyl for your horses.

Dave (dBerczerk) As none of my friends have gotten back into Naps, I'm going to have to paint both sides up. Hopefully, if I can finish what I need to get done as I'm planning on putting together a game in the late fall, for the guys.

Superb. Lots of refights of the struggle for Stare-Vinohrady should do the trick.

Ashenduke09 Jun 2012 4:40 p.m. PST

Great looking cavalry, hope they serve you well on the field.

paulalba09 Jun 2012 5:17 p.m. PST

Really sweet John,
I like your white shading and your horses are coming out well.

Fine job on the saddle covers, very neat!

VonBlucher09 Jun 2012 6:25 p.m. PST

nsolomon99, thanks and I'll remember that.

Ashenduke, Thanks and like all newly painted unit that hits the gaming table, they'll probably be routed by some unit who has a 1% chance of doing it.

Paul, Thanks, a busy week at work for me as I was only able to get 4 horses painted. I have Prussian calling to me from my workbench, "Paint me, paint me." How's you Russians coming along?

von Winterfeldt10 Jun 2012 3:27 a.m. PST

Just go for AB Chasseurs à Cheval of the Guard, the Mamelucks and the Grenadiers à Cheval, and then you can create the cavalry clash at Austerlitz.

Fireymonkeyboy10 Jun 2012 5:48 a.m. PST

Lovely stuff, absolutely inspiring. Keep them coming!

VonBlucher10 Jun 2012 4:53 p.m. PST

vW, I was thinking abouy Austerlitz also, outside of the Mameluks and Guard Chasseurs, all the rest are in that at ease pose. I wish AB came out with charging figures for the Horse Grenadiers and the early Russian Cuirassier.

FMB, Thanks , but my early Prussian Cuirassier and Prussian Draqoons are calling to me from my workbench.
