Believe it or not, it's from BK:

QUESTION:

So, at first glance (and if you didn't know the source of the shuttle), to what 15mm SF range would you say the little shuttle looks like it belongs best?

Thanks,

Dan

I like the blue grey color a lot in pics 3-5.

I think mid tech troops would look more in place as the style does not look too future-istic to me. Rebelminis eathforce maybe.

AVAMANGO12 May 2012 12:48 p.m. PST

Why don't we get cool toys from BK over here in the UK, anyway i think either of the two human factions from ACP would look good with is shuttle as its nice and blocky just like their armour.

Yeah, I was also thinking Earthforce.

Thanks,

John

Astro Minis, ST style figs would work too.

Is there a website that lets you keep track of current and upcoming kid's meal and happy meal toys?

I found this one for Burger King:

Or is it completely insane and dangerous to go down that road?

Psyckosama12 May 2012 1:46 p.m. PST

I need 3! Why you so hard to find?! :(

What about CMG's Blockheads? link

The ST shuttles show up on eBay every so often and very cheap too. Keep checking.

In the meantime, if you can't wait for eBay auctions to get listed, what other bidding sites do you think would have them also?

Those are surprisingly good for BK toys. The cute super-deformed starships are strangely appealing too.

GZG's UNSC Hardsuits, and/or Light Troops need some of those.

I like the green and brown one, with the decals, and added greeblies.

These would be my choice if I ever found some of those… Say three or so shuttles.

Dunno, PJ. I've some manta-ray-style GI Joe thingies that seem more their ride, though they're a lot thinner than the Star Trek one.

That said, one or two ST shuttles should handle that group fine.

Edit: Just to confirm my curmudgeon cred, this discussion is not space, but space interface. ;->=

I use my blue-grey ones (nice to see my own shuttles posted here :)) for mid-tech humans.

Still I think they would fit to a lot of humanoid alien races.

FYI all, Mobile Mantis Sub, but I think Manta Ray is better.

Consider it an interface 'jeep', maybe four grunts, including pilot. 'Pilot' knows enough to crash-with-style. ;->=

Doug

Edit: @PJParent I owe you an apology; I just saw your 'lads' are 20mm tall. Seriously cramped in the Mantis, I fear…

Looking at the vehicle style, particularly on the second picture, mi first tough goes to GZG's NAC or eventually USMC Light troops.Critical Mass Games ARC Fleet Recon troops could also be good.Definitely is a human races vehicle, no matter on this i think.Silvio

How about Khurasan Federal forces (with some Jagerbots thrown in)? I think in that color scheme, they would paint up quite nice and mesh with the design of the shuttle.

If BK didn't make me throw up after I eat it, I would be more enthused.

etotheipi: You and me, brudda.

I got my one example at a thrift shop.

If you want something big and mantis-like for $25 USD or so that can also pass for an exotic possibly alien drop ship you might try the GI Joe Alpha Cobra Mantis Attack Craft by Hasbro. It's a 2+ year old toy so the price has gone up a little bit. The Propellers are obviously submarine propellers but with a bit of remodeling it can look like a huge VTOL stealth alien drop ship and gun ship.

Just an idea.

Here are some John Eaves concept drawings I've just found, of that ST shuttle in the first post:

The shuttles have a NF/Low to Mid-tech vibe to me, but brute solid, so Khurasan Mid-tech troops, New Vistula Legion, CMG Mercenaries, Garn, GZG NAC or ESU, Quar, most factions from the Laserburn or Asgard ranges from 15mm.co.uk and, oddly enough, Astro Miniatures Star Trek Original Series style figures.

Mako1101 Sep 2012 7:27 p.m. PST

Rebel Minis Earth Force Marines would work nicely, too.

Psyckosama01 Sep 2012 11:06 p.m. PST

Damn it. I still haven't found any of these Bleeped texting shuttles! >_<

Yes, OBADIAH is my work, it's from BK … It works fine for 6mm …

picture
I'm using 6mm GZG NAC for my Slammer Infantry (they were not painted up when I took this pic, so I used G/W Epic IG, just to show scale) … And if painted up right, it could work for 10 or 15mm … As you see you may be able get one on eBay …

Cacique Caribe25 May 2013 4:45 a.m. PST

Legion,

I absolutely love what you did with yours!!!

Well, for the last year or so I've been grabbing a few off ebay at rock-bottom prices (about $1 USD each). I hope my painting ends up looking half as good as yours.

Thanks,

Dan
