Bill's question here TMP link prompted me to asked this one: Are you a stamp collector and does your collection include or focus on military topics? I am a stamp collector, but don't specialize in military topics particularly. I remember one of the big names at AH collected stamps and specialized in WWII topics. Saw part of his collection at an ASL gathering once. |

My father is a stamp collector, so thanks to him I have a small collection of military themed stamps, as well as other stamps that I find interesting. Kosta |

Not intentionally. My collection is stored away, as I haven't even opened it since 95 or 96. |

I inherited my Dad's album. He was a devoted collector since he was a wee lad. Hundreds of stamps.
I recently thought I might get it valued & to my astonishment, the dealer offered me $5 USD for it. Early retirement no longer appears likely. |

Collected stamps specificly First Day Covers as a kid. Once maarried my wife asked why I didn't collect anymoire and then started again. But think the Post Office went overboard for the Millenium (2000) as a cash grab and just collect to keep my collection going but not as enthusiastic anymore. |

US only. Have not done much but buy the yearly mint set for probably close to 20 years. |

My brother is a fantatical stamp collector who works in a stamp store. I've been to a few of his stamp club's conventions, "borsts" I think they are called, and they cover some interesting historical subjects. My brother has been giving me a collection for years now of stamps with cartoon imagery (I'm a cartoonist). On the whole I can safely say that stamp collectors are even odder than wargamers (or cartoonists, for that matter). |

I have my grandfathers huge collection. There are stamps from all over the world including 1930's % 40's Germany, special issue stamps that were issued to celebrate the anniversary of particular battles or leaders, etc. I have no idea of value and know that without offering to pay a small fortune I probably couldn't get a fair estimate of it's worth (let alone know if the appraiser wouldn't pocket a tiny treasure or two in the process). |

Major, you need The H.E. Harris catalog. ochoin deach that dealer was trying to cheat you. Mint stamps are at least worth their face value, and used at least 1/2 face value. Based on what I spent in high school and in the navy, mine should be worth several thousand alone. |

I focus on Texas and Hawaii themed stamps as well as the stamps of India. I think I've got just about all the stamps short of a freakishly expensive even if it's fake Scind Dwark. I branched out from Indian postage stamps to include tax and levy stamps. It's neat seeing stamps in Portugese etc. A wife's "friend" visited us one weekend and decided to take a fair chunk of my collection to give to her boyfriend as a gift. Long story short, I agreed not to kill her if she never ever came around or contacted my wife. |
