There was one in Nottinghill and also kingscross but I think they have both closed now (long time since I worked in London). |

Yes, there used to be one near King's X Station....they did close many years ago......not many in London now...GW on Oxford, I believe.......also, there's a very neat sci-fi shop near the corner of Charing X road and Oxford St...turn right as you come up from Charing X road..... |

That's Forbidden Planet, mainly US imports so not that attractive if you're from the US. There's a nice one just over the road from the British Museum main entrance, the name of which completely escapes me. Orc's Nest are good for fantasy. The internet and mail order seem to have killed off many central London games shops. It used to take a day's visit to get round them, now you can do it in a few hours and most of that's travel time. |

Take the train out to the Navwar Store -- out of London proper but not difficult to reach at all. I got the address from their website. If you do aircraft, ships, or microarmor, it is WELL worth the time. |

Also Modelzone in Holborn (tube station is Holborn), and if you wander over to E1 (Tower Hill tube station - district & circle line) there's the Model Shop which does etched brass leaves, embossed card, modelling materials etc (120 Leman street). Orcs nest are good, so is Leisure Games. Harrods in Knightsbridge have a few GW items at higher prices than GW, which always makes me giggle - but try their chocolate cheesecake! |

The games shop over the road from the British Museum is Playing Games, in Museum Street. It's a good general games shop, but they don't have much in the way of miniatures - just some Minifigs 15mms in metal and Clixs and D&D minis in plastic. |

@rebelhairs: would you happen to have addresses for Modelzone & Leisure Games? |
Steve Pugh | 19 Jul 2004 12:08 a.m. PST |
Model Zone is at 202 High Holborn ( just to the West of Holborn tube ) . Leisure Games are at 100 Ballards Lane, Finchley and have their own web site at leisuregames.com |

@rotorvator : beaten to it! *grin* I was a plank when I went looking for Modelzone in Holborn the first time - ended up in the wrong direction! Ask the nice magazine seller outside the tube where it is before setting off - it'll reclaim the 15 minutes I left there! |
