Okay
so I came across this zombie blog the other day ( via this post TMP link) and it has caused me to have second thoughts about what I am doing to scale my Worldworks streets to 15mm
I have followed the usual procedure of reducing to 64%, but a search on the comments of the blog has the person who made the ones in the photos say that they didn't scale them down at all. The trouble is, I think they look fine (except maybe the manhole and drain covers look a bit big). So now I am worries that my ones will end up looking too small
(http://www.cthulhuchris.blogspot.com/2012/02/zombie-go-go.html). I'd be interested to know what other people think and if people scale the street tiles down themselves. I can understand for the buildings, but now I'm not so sure about the streets
Views and opinions on the subject greatly welcomed! Thanks Chris |

Your TMP link comes up as not found. I personally found the streets to be about 10% smaller than I would want.
The dollar store cars make the roads seem smaller. Don't know if that helps or not

Sorry, I wondered where the bracket had gone, it attached itself to the link! The actual link is: TMP link I do feel mine are a bit on the small side, they probably look the same as yours: I assume they are at 65%? My cars, which are 1/100, do look a little large on the roads. I don't know whether to pack it all in and start again or to keep going. I've got about 60 pieces of street waiting to be mounted

I did the 65% like suggested on WWG. I actually just threw away the boards from that pic just today as they were not glued well enough and have started to fall apart – as well as being a bit blah looking from my printer. Next time I am going to try and print at 20mm suggestion and see if it scales more to my tastes. Of course next time I am also going to be using the Streets of legend so I can mix in some Post Apoc tiles to double it's use. |

Thanks. I might just end up trying a few sizes in black and white first to see what fits best
I'd like to not have to but I can't get over the feeling that they are just a bit too small. :( |

Average urban car lane is 11'-12' wide. The photos look like 1/64 scale cars used on the layout. (Many are 'scaled to fit the box, so some are larger or smaller than 1/64.) WWG uses a 1/60 scale for their 1" grid IIRC, so they should look close enough. Problem is with 1/100 people or true 1/100 scale cars, which will look odd. I think 83% would work better for 1/72. Printers will vary of course. |

Thanks. Useful to know about the lane widths. Should have thought to look that up myself! |
