I'm looking for troll miniatures for a goblin army I'm building. I don't want the GW ones and I'm aware of the various Reaper ones. What else is out there or what have you used as trolls? Thanks for any suggestions

Old grenadier models?

heresyminiatures.com do some

very nice but big, expensive and not the easiest put together but (I think) worth the effort.

alternative-armies.com Fomorian heroes might fit your image of a troll

I've used them as that in the past. Note the warriors are too small orc sized.

There is a fair bit more that might suit but those are the ones that come quickly to mind.

Iron Wind still makes a lot of the old Ral Partha ones – look in their catalog under the fantasy headings.

I really like the Fenryll ones:

I guess you looked at the GW LotR trolls as well as WHFB. I like some of those.

There is a really nice LotR-style-but-better troll by a company from Poland. I can't come up with the name! Ah, a search for previous TMP threads gave me:

What are you looking for?

The old Ral Partha Bob Olley trolls paint up nicely. They are smaller that most other trolls, but that just lets you put more of them on the table. Having the rock hurlers as trollish fire support is a nice touch.

All great suggestions, thanks.

Honestly Andy I don't know. I have LOTR trolls in my LOTR collection. I want them to be different for my generic goblin army. I know multiple poses would be a plus.

Was even looking at Vor Growlers Whitetusk as possibilities.

I've just remembered the wargamesfoundry.com 's ones. link Probable too big but I eventually intend the goblin launcher one for my goblin army.

Hey, hey, don't diss the classics. Carrot noses – they're not just for snowmen anymore! :)

Mithril has made many great trolls over the years.
