This is what it's supposed to look like:
link This, of course, is way to big even for 28mm, plus it seems to be flat:
link And this one, though 3D, doesn't seem to provide any information, other than the pic:
link So, what options are there (for 28mm or 15mm) that may not have been explored recently? Thanks, Dan |

I'm surprised GZG never did a version for their 15mm line of SciFi Egyptians and off world teams
unless I've missed it on their site? |

I'm even contemplating buying this brass piece as a substitute:
link auction I just wish it was smaller than the 23mm shown in the description. A 12-15mm wide diameter would be perfect for 15mm gaming. Dan PS. I guess that, if I had to, I could try my hand at making one. I just wish I didn't have to: link |

I found a pack of decorative sewing buttons that worked just fine. Obviously no glyphs, but it had a gemstone and the same basic pattern around the outside. Not hard to carve a chunk of balsa wood into a stand. 20mm round Roman shields would be another good place to start. And, of course, if anyone wants a slightly-undersized-but-functional gate: shapeways.com/model/247988 -Chris K. |

Barely remember the movie, never watched the show, and you don't say what scale this is. Whether a hand-held device or bigger, its regularity -- two concentric circles with a disk in the middle -- probably adds up to something easy to scratch build, and the glyphs are just painting. If you're talking about the actual stargate (a couple stories tall as I remember from the movie), there are a few tutorials around by people who've scratchbuilt them. Couldn't bring one up via Google just now. |

Rassilon, It was either that one or this other one here (but adding a little bead in the middle): auction Dan |

Dan I like the second one much better You can always glue a glass piece in the center or even do the gem paint on it. There is a tutorial around here somewhere on doing gem painting. I think it was on the FOW board? Or maybe one of the aircraft boards? |

Who makes a 15mm Stargate? I remember seeing one here this last year, just can't remember who. |
Wolfprophet | 19 Dec 2011 11:43 p.m. PST |
"Who makes a 15mm Stargate? I remember seeing one here this last year, just can't remember who." UGH! I know this one
There is a company
..but
for the life of me
I cannot remember which one
They make ones that fit in each scale though. They're not labeled "For x scale", just their diameter is labelled. If I can remember it or find the site, I'll be back with it. It doesn't even look like I book marked it. |

According to Wikipedia, a typical stargate ring measures 4.6 m (15 ft) in diameter. So the outer diameter of a 15mm gaming one should be around 45mm (1.77 inches), right? Well, these Stargate Keyrings are probably more like for 10mm, being 1 3/8" (34mm) in diameter: auction This is the one from Shieldwall. "It is an elipsoid shape, measuring (externally) 48mm by 42mm":
linkAnd I just found this Spacegate Geocoin, which measures 44 mm in diameter (1.75 inches). Sounds like the perfect size for 15mm, but there's no telling how expensive it is:
linkThese Stargate Coasters seem great for 28-30mm, with an outer diameter of 4.57 inches (116mm): auction link Studio Bergstrom makes these for 28mm: link Dan TMP link TMP link |

Hmm . . . I wonder if a couple of 50mm (2 inch) lipped bases, without slots and glued back to back, would work as a Stargate for 15mm.

I used a few different sized metal washers with a bead glued to the middle on a cut piece of wood. Just need to cut out a pic on a piece of card and done. Like the gent above. My gate is for 15mm scaled down from a 25mm pdf at the Stargate yahoo group. Thanks, John Thanks, John |

You guys think this might be useful for 15mm? auction It says it is 45mm in diameter. Here's a smaller (32mm) option. It almost looks as though it has glyphs: auction Dan |
Cacique Caribe | 21 Dec 2011 11:58 p.m. PST |
And for a DHD for 15mm, how about thes small brass knobs? auction How does that look as a starting point for a conversion? Also, here's a comparison pic of a stargate (presumably 6.7 meters in diameter) and O'Neil:
Here's a few additional pics of the DHD (presumably 2 meters in diameter and 1.22 meters tall):
