I would like to present some of our new +15mm 'greens' of Sci Fi alien civilians [some humans too] plus a bodyguard, all sculpted by the very talented PF.

Thanks for your interest !

Good to see you back in the game, buddy!

-Eli

Cacique Caribe31 Aug 2011 9:11 a.m. PST

Piotr,

Stunning! I really love them.

I must order soon, after I get back to work. So glad your website is back up and operational.

Dan

Pole Bitwy PL31 Aug 2011 9:26 a.m. PST

Hi guys !

The shop is almost ready to be switched on so expect that in a moment Dan. There are even more nice sculpts ready to be posted here plus terrain, so watch this space soon ;)

Ambush Alley Games31 Aug 2011 9:39 a.m. PST

LOVE 'EM!!!

- Shawn.

Grodokar31 Aug 2011 9:53 a.m. PST

Great Star Wars cosmopolitan look!

War Monkey31 Aug 2011 10:54 a.m. PST

Great stuff! Can't wait till I get back home, In Califorina right now.

Mako1131 Aug 2011 11:13 a.m. PST

Nice looking stuff!

Can only see about half the minis on your webpage though, since the right half is cut off. Only shows half of the 7th creature from the left, with the big ears.

I especially like the 5th and 6th sculpts from the left.

The human bystander holding the cloak/coat is even better, and would be perfect for a UFO SHADO member without that. Would love to see more poses of this one, with and without weapons. She'd also be good for the Bladerunner era.

Any idea when these will be put into production?

Gunner Dunbar31 Aug 2011 11:42 a.m. PST

Yes, very nice stuff.

Lampyridae31 Aug 2011 11:47 a.m. PST

Ooooh I really hope those MaKs type power armours are part of the package!!

Martian Root Canal31 Aug 2011 11:49 a.m. PST

Very cool stuff! Can't wait to order!

Allen5731 Aug 2011 11:54 a.m. PST

Great minis but they are too tall or too short. Need to be about 13mm taller or 9mm shorter.:p) Welcome back.

Pole Bitwy PL31 Aug 2011 11:59 a.m. PST

Mako11: I am checking those web page errors. I will change those images to others with direct links to bigger files. This might help.

Update: relinked images to bigger files. Please tell me if it works for you ?

I plan to ask PF to sculpt several humanoid females similar to her, both unarmed as well as armed with sharp and/or energy weapons.

Here are both alien bystanders:

Once I receive the greens, they should be available in about a month total from today I believe, so that looks like end of September.

dandiggler31 Aug 2011 12:00 p.m. PST

These are great, can't wait to see more!

Pole Bitwy PL31 Aug 2011 12:01 p.m. PST

Thanks Allen ! Great to see you :D

I think I somehow managed to crash TMP's amazing image autoscaling system. Ooops…

Mako1131 Aug 2011 12:09 p.m. PST

Thanks for the other pics.

I could use about 11+ more poses of the female human, with/without weapons, seated, running, armed with a futuristic pistol, rifle, dagger, tri-corder type device, etc. A few in spacesuits would be nice too – seated, standing, armed, etc.

I suspect many others could as well.

Eli Arndt31 Aug 2011 12:20 p.m. PST

Gotta love the alien "Wakka Womp Rat" champion with the giant mallet! grin

-Eli

infojunky31 Aug 2011 12:28 p.m. PST

WOOT!…

Edit that…

Double Plus WOOT!….

Pole Bitwy PL31 Aug 2011 12:29 p.m. PST

I think one of the aliens metabolism disagrees with human alcoholic beverages. Just think what he must be quietly saying, 'Never ever another glass of that bug infested Tequila drink. Ouch…' :o)

Stealth100031 Aug 2011 1:49 p.m. PST

Super stuff. I want.

Pole Bitwy PL31 Aug 2011 2:04 p.m. PST

I can inform you all that even more different alien sculptures are on their way including alien females and kids.

Do any of the aliens should have more of them made [ie. a separate pack of same type] ?

Eli Arndt31 Aug 2011 2:08 p.m. PST

OOooo, that is a loaded question Piotr.

I think there are many in there with merit. I would love to see a of the "jawas" in merchant, scrounging and repairing/building modes.

-Eli

Wolfprophet31 Aug 2011 2:38 p.m. PST

Impressive stuff. Looks like it'll add some fun.

Cacique Caribe31 Aug 2011 2:46 p.m. PST

Piotr: "Do any of the aliens should have more of them made [ie. a separate pack of same type]?"

And additional poses for them too?

If so, I would go with lots more of the tiny robed guys on the left! A pack of 20-25, perhaps, with 5-6 variants?

Dan

War Monkey31 Aug 2011 5:04 p.m. PST

I keep coming back to look again and again, I have this whole starport thing going and those would be great to have other then the normal humans stuff, yup a couple more different poses would be nice but not necessary

AVAMANGO31 Aug 2011 5:38 p.m. PST

Oooooooo possibly some power armored SPUG wanabees…..

picture

Mako1131 Aug 2011 5:55 p.m. PST

I'd like to see more poses of figs 5 and 6, counting from the left, plus the rat-woman (assuming its a woman, due to the handbag) fig third from the right. Perhaps a male counterpart.

Some of the aliens, in spacesuits too (e.g. 5 and 6 again), but with helmets off, would be a nice addition too, since no one does aliens in vaccuum suits like that.

clkeagle31 Aug 2011 6:11 p.m. PST

An assortment of the little guys on the left would be most welcome. And I like the Bodyguard a little more every time I see him… I'd like to see a unit pack of that.

Chris K.

Pole Bitwy PL31 Aug 2011 9:37 p.m. PST

His pose reminds me of a certain character from the 2000AD comic who likes to say, ' I am the law !'…
I can picture a unit of those bodyguards / police aliens.

Lampyridae01 Sep 2011 3:09 a.m. PST

PF did an awesome power armour prototype for Khurasan. Looks like a German MaKs suit or a Tau Stealth Suit. Something like that would be VERY useful as it could be just about any species wearing it.

+1 on more poses for the bodyguard. He'd make a good salarian from Mass Effect.

If we have armed female humanoids, something other than the usual "pistols/shotguns are for girls." We demand assault rifles at least!

Maybe a couple of non-bipedal alien civvie types would be good too. I know a lot of people here have been clamouring for some.

Pole Bitwy PL01 Sep 2011 3:26 a.m. PST

Some non-bipedal aliens are planned in the next batch. In the meantime we have this lady from this series:

be wary of 'pole bitwy' I still have not received items I paid for about a year ago

Cacique Caribe01 Sep 2011 12:47 p.m. PST

Malcolm,

Just curious …

Didn't his website crash at about that time? Could the order request have gotten lost when that happened? Have you contacted him directly ?

Dan

melfortuk02 Sep 2011 8:40 a.m. PST

I got some story about a post worker taking the mail that he had sent, and he would send replacements, but as soon as the time to cancel the payment ran out, he stopped answering me.
I still have not received anything.

Malcolm

That's not the only negative story I've read. Also apparently the store got hacked and the paypal address changed, and when all this was discovered, there was an issue with Pole Bitwy making a good faith shipment to the buyer of the models:

TMP link

Pole Bitwy PL02 Sep 2011 12:22 p.m. PST

I just finished checking, all outstanding lost / stolen cases, including melfortuk as well as the problem with my previous hosting that Porfirio Rubirosa mentioned which resulted in a hacker gaining access to several accounts including my own via a bug in their virtual server software, were reimbursed / refunded their money. Unfortunately I spent quite a lot of my time last year in a hospital, away from any email or web access. The Malaysian hacker case is still pending, but I have serious doubts that it will ever reach a satisfactory conclusion due to PayPal not wanting to provide sufficient details or even blocking / freezing a hacker's account.
To melfortuk: I haven't stopped answering your queries once the time to cancel run out. Actually I was quite unaware of such a time limit and was operated on at the time. Please accept my public apologies for the problems this has caused you. If you find the exact refund is not enough to cover your emotional loses, please contact me and we can work something out like free miniatures or terrain.
Problems like that shouldn't really happen once you bring your package to the Post Office, it should reach its destination safely. This was the case with the vast majority of my shipments abroad, as many of you can prove.

Once again very sorry for any and all unintentional damages caused to a fellow war gamer. Please contact me with any issues and problems direct via apjapj@gmail.com

I would just like the figures that I thought I had ordered

Malcolm

Eli Arndt03 Sep 2011 1:14 p.m. PST

Hey guys,

Piotr is a person, just liek the rest of us. Having been in contact with him on and off during his absence from the miniatures world, I can tell that he's being genuine when he says he had some stuff going on.

Give him time and honest, approrpirate communication and I'm sure he'll take care of you.

-Eli

Pole Bitwy PL05 Sep 2011 7:33 a.m. PST

Melfortuk: I sent you some emails over the last days. Did you get any of them as well as the refund ?

Thanks Eli. I really would like solve all such cases. It appears we have one way communication for some reason.

melfortuk05 Sep 2011 11:01 a.m. PST

Piotr
Due to loss of email account and change of account address, had lost contact, but have finally managed to get in touch, hope this sorts things out ammicably. Watch this space.

Malcolm

Pole Bitwy PL05 Sep 2011 11:10 p.m. PST

Thanks Malcolm !
Finally we managed to swap emails I think :D

Cacique Caribe05 Sep 2011 11:24 p.m. PST

Excellent!

Now, about those new miniatures . . .

I hope they are ready next month, when I go back to work and start earning play money again.

Dan

Pole Bitwy PL06 Sep 2011 4:09 a.m. PST

Don't worry Dan,

Even more aliens are in the pipeline… :D

(I make fun of others)06 Sep 2011 6:27 a.m. PST

Give him time and honest, approrpirate communication and I'm sure he'll take care of you.

It's understood that he's your mate and you're trying to cover for him, but if I'd been waiting a year for my models, and had not got them after repeatedly enquiring where they were, I'd be a bit irked by your comment.

Eli Arndt06 Sep 2011 9:13 a.m. PST

@porfirio – Actually, I'm not that close with him, but I have had contact with him during his "absence". I am not covering for him and wouldn't have any reason to do so for him or any other person.

The point I was trying to make was – he's back, he's in contact and he's attempting to set things right. So, piling on negativity and ignoring those attempts is just more of the same from you, I'm afraid.

-Eli

(I make fun of others)06 Sep 2011 9:49 a.m. PST

Actually, no, haven't piled on any negativity, unless pointing out another thread in which someone said he had problems with ordering is "negativity." Don't think it is, think rather it's what a forum is supposed to be for -- sharing information.

Information, I have found, is always better than "I'm sure he will send you your models because I've e-mailed him and he's genuine."

Can't speak for you but I have found that customer feedback tends to be a pretty good predictor of what my order will be like too.

So how would you feel if you'd been trying to get the models you paid for out of the seller for a year or more, and when you mentioned this some bloke offers this -- "I think the seller is a nice guy and he's had some problems. I'm sure if you communicate with him appropriately you will get your models." Seems a bit like adding insult to injury.

Eli Arndt06 Sep 2011 10:16 a.m. PST

Well, not to get in a spitting match here but, speaking for myself I'd be annoyed but also I'd at least acknowledge the current efforts being made. I also ask you, in form of a counterpoint, if you had serious issues going on in your private life that required massive amounts of your time and attention, what would you do? Add to this the possibility that there were systems issues that were impeding or preventing clear communication.

It should also be mentioned here, for the sake of completeness, that as far as track records go on TMP and my reason calling you on your rather harsh comments, you have a history of jumping into threads with little or nothing constructive to say. It would seem that your major purpose for being on TMP is to tear down those who are trying to accomplish something and attempting to use the boards for their intended purposes.

I may get some flak for bringing this out in the open, but I felt that it was wise to get all my cards on the table so folks know where I am coming from.

-Eli

(I make fun of others)06 Sep 2011 10:52 a.m. PST

Sometimes if I see something and don't like some aspect of it, I will say so. Interesting that you think you are any different, you certainly have been the sour note on many a posting of some model or other product here. So I'd say before pointing to the splinter in my eye ….

Also interesting that you keep making this about me, when all I did was point out another customer who had an issue with buying from this seller, and then pointed out that, in your rush to defend him, you were blaming the victim. Note I have not said that Pole Bitwy is a bad vendor, I've just pointed to someone else who had said so, when the topic came up. You on the other hand seem to have no customer experience with him but seem to be offering an opinion anyway.

Eli Arndt06 Sep 2011 11:40 a.m. PST

You are correct that you did not make the only negative remark. I apologize for singling you out.

As for comparing my own negative feedback to yours I believe it is clear to anyone who has a history with either of us would be able to tell the differences. Even when I am providing negative feedback it is in the form of constructive criticism.

I am not the sort to simply say something is bad, or worthless, pointless or otherwise without merit without somehow qualifying that statement and offering alternative suggestions.

-Eli

(I make fun of others)06 Sep 2011 12:12 p.m. PST

As for comparing my own negative feedback to yours I believe it is clear to anyone who has a history with either of us would be able to tell the differences.

Happy to disagree. grin When I like something I tend to say so on the News forum, where lots of people will see. When I dislike something I tend to say so on the discussion forum, for the wonks.

Even when I am providing negative feedback it is in the form of constructive criticism.

Yes, I think we all think our criticism is constructive, don't we? You frequently criticise finished products with meh comments, when of course the product is finished, so it can't really be constructive criticism. But suit yourself, when you take the Bleeped text out of something it's constructive, when I do it's because I'm evil. evil grin

I'm not evil, I'm just a Honduran playboy!

I notice this is still about me, though. Not sure how persuasive that is, as all I did was point to another thread I recalled that discussed order fulfillment problems.
