Most who responded to this poll TMP link found action figures at least acceptable in games, but do you use them yourself, and if so how do you use them in your games?

I have some action figures I use as dragons, giants, and other huge monsters in fantasy games.

I also have some Gundam action figures that will be used in either sci fi or superhero games.

I use action figures in all of my wargaming. I like using action figures in games so much, I wrote a line of wargames just for them.

I primarily use 8-12" figures for giant monsters/robots and 3-4" figures for the normal human sized characters.

I have a boss collection of Star Wars Chalmun's Cantina action figures that I continue to claim I will turn into a game. Time will tell.

No. I don't like using childish toys in my games with toy soldiers!

I was gonna use some terminator 3 3/4 figures and some of the rise of cobra gijoes as resistance. Been collecting them for years. Been buying some of the Captain America figures too, for some WWWII battles.
Soon as I get the basement renovated!

I have used Stikfas figures as robots and other "monsters" before. And, of course, when I do manage to do any kaiju gaming, "toys" are the preferred figures.

If you mean Action man / GI Jope, then I don't.

If you mean mage knight – well, play mage knight, rebase fo HoTT armies, that kind of thing.

We don't use them. But one of our gaming buddies has enough 12" GI Joes to do a good sized skirmish game using them alone.

Any excuse for a Barbie doll collection.

Perfect for MOUT/FIBUA games:

Not yet

Currently using 2mm figures from Germy but I do fancy a raid on Toy2Us/eBay for the 90mm figures seen here link

10-15 figures and a little bit of terrain and I'm set grin

I am not adverse to using them but at present don't seem to be. There are a fair collection in a box not opened from my last house move (over 20years). I do use trees by toy companies meant for 54mm figures as large individual trees in some skirmish gaming and some dolls house bits.

I've got quite a hefty collection of Star Wars figures that I'd love to use for wargaming, but haven't really found rules that would work well for lightsaber duels.

My 3.75 or 90mm collection of WH40K Imperial Guard fighting Orks on Khorigate IV.

I like action figure games.

we've played some skirmish with the 1/18 scale figures, yes. Good games, especially if you use rules that lend themselves to more detail.

Takes a lot of space, and all new terrain, and such.

I use action figures on a regular basis. I Have a Star Wars Cantina game put together that I use full sized figures. I Also use them for a Death Star Escape game. (rescue the Princess and get off the board.) I have several sets of Ultrama play sets for this game.

(Pics are not mine just examples)

I wrote a set of WW2 skirmish rules for the 1:18 scale "action figures". The guys in my club seem to like it, too, they have requested it for game night several times.
I have also repainted several Star Wars action figures to serve as statuary outside buildings in 25mm Star Wars Miniatures Battles games

Grand Duke Natokina09 Sep 2011 11:39 a.m. PST

I do buy the minis of weapons I have fired.

I have been looking at the Halo Reach figures at Target and TRU and have imagined building a couple of armies and maybe do some gaming. Probably like a ww2 fantasy? But the figures are so big at 5" +. They are really fantasticly scuylpted though. Maybe I'll just stick to my 54's and 90mm medievals.
