As some of you may have seen the 'Stylish Blogger Awards' are doing the rounds at the moment and I managed to pick up a 'nod'. As is traditional, I've answered the questions and passed on the nomination to a couple of other bloggers out there. you can find the full story here: link

Laughable. I'm mighty tired of it being the latest post on every damn gaming blog I visit. Sure is exclusive and prestigious.

The sooner this idiotic chain letter has worked its way through all the gaming blogs and has nowhere left to go the better, as I far as I'm concerned.

I've been nominated by a couple of folks, which is nice. The thing is, this is the busiest time of the year at work for me, and any blogging I do manage gets done in between work life and real life. All of which means that I don't think I'll work up the inclination to do it.

It is good to be appreciated, though!

Itīs good to be appreciated..I agree but it isnīt very exclusive anymore…and anyway…we are all stylish :-D
I dumped it and broke the chain…and so did a couple of others.
Cheers

But it isn't even as if the 'nod' itself is worth anything or in any way meaningful. People thinking that it is (via the little ego boost they get from it) is what keeps this nonsense going. What value does the nomination have when it is a condition of receiving it that you pass it on to a bunch of other people? That means you only got your 'appreciation' or 'nod' because someone else did, and so on and so on, ad infinitum.

It never was exclusive, it has always been a chain letter.

It isn't an award, it is a contagion.

Ditto (et al), I did mention in my blog post that it was '…a chain letter with flattery'

For future reference, please feel free to read the blog post before commenting. That is all. ;p

While the gaming blogs continue to propagate this Stylish Blogger drivel, I'm afraid not reading them is the preferred option.

And while yes, you did mention that, you also decided to jump through all the Stylish Blogger hoops like a good little doggie anyway, and keep this crap going a bit longer. So it wasn't really worth mentioning it at all, was it?
