I'm not into blogging, but I enjoy reading blogs. It seems as if everyone in every genre of blogging is getting this so-called "award", though I fail to see its significance. From its criteria, it seems more like a chain letter without the bad luck than anything. I guess when every blog becomes a 'stylish blogger' then we'll start seeing the 'super stylish blogger' award start popping up? Seriously, who started this and what's the point? I don't get it. Anyway, I find gaming and modeling blogs to be the best in the world. So thanks to everyone for their efforts. BTW I steer clear of political blogs--those frighten me! :-) |

Absolutely. That's exactly what it is. It is currently spreading through the gaming blogs like a plague. Quite funny over the last few days to look at the Blogs of War update site and see the "Stylish" logo popping up so much. Equally funny to note all the bloggers going on about how "honoured" they are to have been nominated (by some other blogging nitwit who was just nominated for it himself five minutes before).

I think I have to agree with you. |

I am honored. It means that someone out there liked my blog enough to take the time to mention it. For me, that counts as praise, and from the same folks I am trying to entertain. And yes, it means nothing more than that. But it's still a nice "attaboy" kind of thing. |

When part of the deal is that you nominate a number of other blogs (the exact number seems to vary as the thing spreads around the net), then the value of this "attaboy" is rather debatable. It's a pyramid scheme with attaboys instead of money. |

Mine came without instructions so I didn't know what to do with it. I was just perusing the blog sites and have come across the award and can nearly trace it's lineage to me. It is an "attaboy" and that's nice. I think there are "bugs" with it as the help site mentions that this leads to glitches on your blog. link So, if you involve your blog in a link farm or two, be prepared to post, one day, in Broken "Help! My blog is locked as spam!!" or similar. You may get it back after review – and you may not. And the review process can put your blog out of action for a few days, even if it's eventually restored. |

My way of giving a blogger an "attaboy" is to become a follower and usually let them know I like the blog in one of my comments. I like it enough or think the blog has enough potential to add it to my reader. Right now, I follow 160 blogs and check them at least every evening. |

I'm a suspicious,miserable old curmudgeon,so I knocked my "award" back. |

As to the origin? Huffygirl offers this by way of explanation: link |

If I'm nominated, I'll likely Graciously decline. It is very much like a Chain letter, and anyone who has ever emailed me a chain letter knows I loathe them(and block after several Warnings). While this stylish blogger ward is a little differnt, I'd still pobably graciously decline. I'd be honoured that someone thought my blog was in their top 5-10 and would likely thank them, but i would not accept the award(even though as an award, it's meaning is diluted by so many poeple having it
.) |

Funny that this should come up today. I've been nominated for this a couple of times in the last week or two. This morning I posted a comment on my blog (in comments, not as a post) thanking those for the nomination but excusing myself from taking an active part. |

It is about as exclusive as an epidemic of influenza.. and I think there might be some danger in .. just a feeling.. |

Iīm not too sure about the thing as well
Iīve been nominated a couple of times but I tried to trace the thing back along the chain. It should have been easy, the rules say you say wher it came from so on each blog I just linked back to that one who had nominated but it didnīt work as I thought. I soon came up against a "site" that you needed permission to acess. Ok I got around that one but the very next one was "locked" as well.. I got very sceptical link and so have others link Huffy girls explanation seems a bit tongue in cheek :-D Also
the maths on it
.1 person nominates the minimum of 10, they do the same = 100, they do the same = 1000, in 6 moves thatīs a million!!!! Another one
.who is this and what does "Kirsten" want??? kirsten.williams@multiadsagency.com Cheers paul |

It is at worst spam, at best an acknowledgment of appreciation. YMMV. |
J Womack 94 | 05 May 2011 9:44 a.m. PST |
Paint it Pink, that is exactly what I think. And, as others have pointed out, you can always opt out if you're suspicious. I didn't use any code from anyone to post about it. So I don't see how it could hurt. I did install links back and forwards, but as far as I am concerned, that is just advertising some good blogs (or at least, i think they are good). |
