After this informal survey, I ended up re-having a look at the Felids:

I decided I could get past my disdain for Earth-based animal-aliens and give them a go ;-)

My next problem is that I am no great painter and doubt that I would do a great job trying to mimic Khurasan's fantastic paint jobs:

I was curious as to what schemes others had chose to go with for their killer kitties?

Thanks for any pics/ suggestions!

I tried a white tiger look, but it didn't turn out that well…

Dont sell him short! That was one option I was considering too, either a white tiger or black puma look. Not very original but easy to paint!

Not a good photo, but I had it handy:

Hormagaunt Purple armor over Astronomican Gray uniforms. The exposed Felids are Macharius Orange with Deneb Stone splotches. Weapons are Tin Bitz. The entire mini is brushed with Wonder Wash Black (my favorite wash for 15mm) and based with some sand that I liberated from a local park.

Certainly not a great scheme, but it didn't take me long to paint all nine of them. I have another light battle circle, a heavy battle circle, and a baron on the painting table. Hopefully I can improve the scheme just a little bit… might try a brown wash next time.

I need to just buy a set of these as I have a great painting idea but don't want to say it until I can present the final project.

I don't have pictures of mine, but they came out very bobcat-ish, rather than tiger.
