These classics by Lloyd Alexander would need some interesting characters and lots of "revolutionary rabble".

Mickle – woman in blouse, breeches and belt, with pistol?
Count Bombas – tubby fellow in fancy officers uniform
Musket – dwarf in cocked hat
various street urchins, male and female
roused rabble with variety of weapons

I always pictured the Westmark troops as Hessians and Regians as Austrians, don't know why…

Great series of books.

Count Las Bombas – tubby fellow in fancy officers uniform

West Wind has a suitable figure in their Sleepy Hollow range.
Mickle could be played by a female pirate figure.
Theo could also come out of that WW pack.

Mickle: a *lot* of 'female pirates' to chose from: Black Cat Bases link Black Scorpions link Bronze Age link Eureka of course picture Old Glory link Reaper link …. Enigma 'Katerin' could also fit the bill specially well link as maybe could the female among the Warmachine 'Arcame Tempest Gun Mages' link …. Those not chosen for 'Mickle' could become part of the 'roused rabble'.

Black Scorpion has male officers in the Pirate range, some rather gaudy.

Dwarf pirates in tricorns? A *lot* of Orcs, but dwarves? Maybe in some Fantasy range, and anyway *headswapping* giving a tricorne would 'tag' it "18th C." -reapair / complete the mutilated beard with greenstuff? Anyway most 'dwarf' minis are caricatural / cartoonesque, probably more 'realistic' to convert / give a 18th c. 'look' to a stout, fat 20-23mm mini?

Mob? Many minis from the various West Wing 'Gothic Horror' could be suitable link ; id° for various Blue Moon sets link A number among the (almost countless) male pirates link can be included.

Search also for 'armed civilians' in FIW (e.g. link ) and AWI ranges.

Somewhere (?) a small 'characters from Gevaudan' (± aka 'Brotherhood of the Wolf' characters) range.

Of course Foundry 'offers' (!!) several 18th C. potentially useful sets of civilians, smugglers, highway men.. ; Front Ranks has a few link ; ckek also Outpost Highwaymen range link

Maddened crowd can additionally pick from suitable minis from some Revolutionary & Napoleonic ranges (French Revolution, Anti Napoleonic Spain and -Eureka- Tyrol…)

Reaper link have rather generic 'civilian types' including children.

(Btw, to adapt stories set in later times to the 18th C. would require the same kind of 'cast' and a few conversions of figurines: I'm currently toying with ideas about the adaptation of Japansese Hellsing to the 'tricornes' period ( link ) as Hoellesingen: link …)

I was wodering about French revolutionary mob… Who has those?

I did think of pirates, just have no experience with them. The dwarf isn't bearded, he's just a very short fellow in a cocked hat with a pistol and maybe cavalry saber.

He also drives Bombas' coach which has one horse and is enclosed. Funny thing I just saw a coach like that recently…

Bombas might come out of the "island governor and assistants" bag from OG.

A stout fellow with saber & pistol? Probably to be found in a 'Pirates' range of excessive / cartoonesque look? Or search & convert a mini ± appearing as a carriage driver and a varlet / servant?

There were threads here in recent months about 18th C. coaches / carriages, but one with a single horse?

French revolutionary mob… don't know of much (Foundry had two sets; don't know about the current availability); a richer 'niche' is French Vendeens / Chouans, though you'd have to convert the round hats to tricornes -read it's not too difficult -even without resorting to headswapping- specially for a mob where 'uniformity' is not required, is even to be avoided. Foundry had a few, most link come from Alain Touller TMP link link but I don't know about their availability outside France (or at least the EC?).

Somewhere (?) a small 'characters from Gevaudan'

Brigade Games

French revolutionary mob… don't know of much (Foundry had two sets; don't know about the current availability); a richer 'niche' is French Vendeens / Chouans,

These are closer to 25 than 28mm

Obviously a continuation of this thread: TMP link
(though for 'accurate 'Westmark most of men hats had to be turned into tricornes (not that hard for 'irregulars', I read)
Btw possible suggestions for Mickle and other Westmark 'female heroes' (heroines scream and have to be rescued): TMP link

"Musket": 'graft' a 28-30mm beardless head on a 22-25mm body; the 'disproportion' will indicate 'dwarfism' and fully justify the small size of the character. Ideally done in two poses: sited as a driver, and upright with saber and pistol in hand. Note that since he is a 'civilian' it probably be easier to find two minis (FIW colonists? Peasants? 18th c. coach attendants) similarly dressed in these two poses.

Hope & wish you'll open a BLOG to share with us your 'Westmark' project!

Why NOT? I did not read the book, but since it's a *fantasy* setting unleash your creativity / imagination if the texts don't provide precise informations about the uniforms' colors!
