I thought that would catch your attention. :)

Anyway . . .

A recent discussion about the "face on Mars" made me dig through my closet bins, where I found something I had done a while back, before my arm surgeries this past February.

Hope you like the set:

Note: When you select a photo, click on "View All Sizes" to zoom.

- Full body piece is 47mm long, 22mm wide and 8mm high. This piece is intended for guarding both sides of the entrance to a tomb. Similar to this:

- Head piece is 35mm long, 23mm wide and 14mm high. This piece is intended to be mounted on a cliff wall (perhaps, the way Jebel Barkal is said to have been) or on a large seated statue:

- 15mm Rebel Minis figure for comparison.

By the way, when I sculpted them, I had these Jeff Carlisle images in mind:

And this is the "face on Mars", according to the film "Mission To Mars":

Thanks.

These are really cool, to be honest though, I like your older ones a bit better, by using the nonhumanoid face it made them more alien and interesting.

These are beautiful sculpts. I wish I had that kind of talent.

Love it C/C !! And the Historical examples is a great concept. I try to do the same sort of thing …

They always did date openly, you know.

hello

lovely sculpting, I wish I had a bit more talent in that regard.

Out of interest, the statues and tomb you showed in the Abu Simbel pic were actually moved whollus bollus and repositioned where you currently see them, they were going to be submerged under the Aswan dam, look carefully at the cliff face above the statues and you can see the joins. Have been to that sight and it took me along time to work out where the joins were. An incredible piece of engineering. Pity about all the others that were left to be submerged!

You have definitely picked some excellent research material. From my time in Egypt I was constantly in awe when exploring sights and I think you have managed to capture that in you statue project.

I don't know why exactly, but I would imagine ancient Martians would look good having Egyptian traits. Perhaps it has something to do with the premise behind the original BSG or even the concept behind the film film "Mission to Mars", which has the Martians "seeding" Earth with life before their own civilization collapses.
Either way, the Egyptian style looks mystical enough to inspire some cool gaming backgrounds.
