I'm not a great fan of the "free X" threads nor particularly of this guy:
TMP link

But he's sitting in the DH all alone & although he was undoubtedly being snarky, ill-mannered & supercilious the sentence was pretty long (42 days).

So: how about a bit of mercy for ol'SS? He can add something to the conversation, is quite knowlegeable & I'm sure his wife & dog love him.

So, how about it? Free Smitty?

Buff Orpington02 Aug 2010 3:17 a.m. PST

I thought he was the Liechtenstein 3

RavenscraftCybernetics02 Aug 2010 5:12 a.m. PST

there can be no mercy in chateau dif

nazrat02 Aug 2010 5:20 a.m. PST

Leave him there.

Procopius02 Aug 2010 6:29 a.m. PST

Shame we don't have a spare guillotine.

In the absence of one, leave him there.

He only has 14 hours left…
Better sign the petition now, before he is released, nobody knows what you are talking about!

Paul Hurst02 Aug 2010 6:50 a.m. PST

Who cares.

DH anyone who starts "free XXX" threads.

SECURITY MINISTER CRITTER02 Aug 2010 7:55 a.m. PST

If it's only 13 hours, he's had his sentence reduced. It was
30 some days last week.

aecurtis Fezian02 Aug 2010 8:27 a.m. PST

Must be the Lohan Effect.

Allen

Sane Max02 Aug 2010 8:32 a.m. PST

No, he is a Bleeped text.

Pat

Old Bear02 Aug 2010 9:06 a.m. PST

Yeah, what Lenin said. Leave him in the cooler.

highlandcatfrog02 Aug 2010 11:26 a.m. PST

I don't know about the Liechtenstein 1, but yadda yadda definitely deserved what he got. Hanging's too good for such dastardly dastardliness.

But since we're on the subject, Free Hat! Free Hat! Free Hat!

ochoin deach02 Aug 2010 3:04 p.m. PST

Thank you, Bill. I'm sure he'll be a good boy from now on.

Buckeye AKA Darryl02 Aug 2010 3:59 p.m. PST

Leave 'em, he's an Bleeped text

Fred Ehlers02 Aug 2010 4:21 p.m. PST

If Lindsey Lohan can take so can he!

aecurtis Fezian02 Aug 2010 5:33 p.m. PST

Free Snooki!

ochoin deach02 Aug 2010 5:46 p.m. PST

@ L&M & DS

Of course he is. That's not news. But maybe his gratitude at early release will reform him.

And maybe not.

ochoin deach02 Aug 2010 5:49 p.m. PST

"I thought he was the Liechtenstein 3"

He was. But he lost weight.

Free Snooki!

Any takers yet?
No?

I didn't think so.

Buckeye AKA Darryl03 Aug 2010 5:48 a.m. PST

Again, leave him rot. Better yet, boot him from TMP altogether. Those who argue with the Grand Poopah, you know, that chap who created and gives us TMP, should be stricken from the records.

Steven H Smith03 Aug 2010 8:55 a.m. PST

Give us Barabus!

Big Al

ochoin deach03 Aug 2010 11:06 p.m. PST

You're welcome, Steve.
Honestly, no thanks are necessary.
Really.

Procopius04 Aug 2010 7:30 a.m. PST

Wow, is someone comparing himself to the Messiah?

Procopius04 Aug 2010 7:49 a.m. PST

"He's not the Messiah, he's just a naughty boy."

Old Bear05 Aug 2010 6:05 a.m. PST

Thank you, Bill. I'm sure he'll be a good boy from now on.

Yeah, right. Don't hold your breath. Still, it was nice while it lasted. Bang goes the Napoleonic history board again.

Old Bear16 Aug 2010 1:39 p.m. PST

Well, he's back and doing what he does best, so well done Ochoin for weeing in the pool.

ochoin deach16 Aug 2010 1:56 p.m. PST

@OB
Next time, I'm voting for the Death Penalty.
Clemency is clearly over rated.

Old Bear17 Aug 2010 1:27 a.m. PST

laugh It doesn't matter anyway now, so you can sleep well at night without guilt or remorse… wink

ochoin deach17 Aug 2010 5:09 a.m. PST

It would be hard to be sympathetic. He did it to himself.

Personally, I'm not a fan of stifling/dawghousing/locked accounts but they're not hard to avoid either.

Condottiere17 Aug 2010 12:44 p.m. PST

At least it's quick.

ochoin deach25 Aug 2010 11:42 p.m. PST

In spite of all the criticism I recieved for requesting clemency for Smitty, I would like to point out it worked.

Has anyone noticed how quiet he's been lately?
Certainly he hasn't done anything one could object to.

Cacique Caribe26 Aug 2010 4:58 a.m. PST

Wasn't "yadda yadda" the name of, or sound made by, the little robot in the Buck Rogers show in the late 70s?

Dan

Dude, he's had his account locked and been kicked off the site. That's why he's quiet and things are better.

ochoin deach26 Aug 2010 2:22 p.m. PST

OB, apologies. I was going for subtle irony.
I do propose a Steven Smith Day to be held on the second Septugesima on every alternate leap year.

CC, 'yadda yadda' was the title of a Seinfeld episode.

Old Bear26 Aug 2010 6:10 p.m. PST

OD, in that case it should be me apologising for being dense. I'm with you about the remembrance date though. Of course it will come arouind so soon…

nazrat27 Aug 2010 8:41 a.m. PST

"Wasn't "yadda yadda" the name of, or sound made by, the little robot in the Buck Rogers show in the late 70s?"

Nope, it was "Beedy beedy beedy!"

ochoin deach28 Aug 2010 4:41 p.m. PST

""Beedy beedy beedy!"
This pretty well sums up much of the "discussion" on the Naps history board.

It may be improved with the recent departure but I did notice two of his supporters are there now. Fighting the good fight: sheesh!

They're like dragon's teeth….

Kaoschallenged28 Aug 2010 9:11 p.m. PST

So after Steven H Smith's time in the DH did he not take heed and learn from the experience? Robert

I'm afraid not.

nazrat29 Aug 2010 5:29 p.m. PST

Not even close, it seems.

ochoin deach29 Aug 2010 11:13 p.m. PST

Thanks, Dan.

It does remind me of the bleating of various "account locked" types.
