A) Would this Lindberg model work for Preds?

B) If so, what size Preds would be ideal for it? 15mm? 28mm?

Thanks.

Absolutely! I had considered one way back, but deemed it too small for 28mm….But 15mm, I think it would be perfect.

Nice find Dan.

That's pretty cool. What size is it?

Cacique Caribe22 Jul 2010 3:24 p.m. PST

Manatic,

According to one site, that Lindberg model is 10"L – 5"H – 10"W:

The ship from Predator 2 was different, I know. See here, at 5 minutes and 15 seconds:

Nonetheless, I like the out-of-this-world look of the ID4 model, and hope it can pass for a Pred ship.

It would make an excellent Predator ship. I think they said it's 1/48th scale. If you mask off the windows it's pretty scaleless. It's pretty good for a 1-6 man ship in 28mm. For 15mm it would make a pretty decent ship for a whole clan full of predators.

"For 15mm it would make a pretty decent ship for a whole clan full of predators."

Aaha! So you also see the Pred-sy look of it. Awesome.

There's a couple of reviewers who seem to think that it's a 1/72 model (it's on the box too). I guess it's relatively scale-less, after all.

Dan
PS. By the way, this Revell Cylon Raider is the other one that, to me, looks like it could pass for a Pred ship:

Wasn't there a larger toy version too?

CloudCaptain,

Is this the one you mean?

Yep…thats the one. Might work a bit better size wise. Shocked they were asking so much. It wasn't a huge blockbuster IIRC …and the toys tanked pretty hard afterwards.

I have one which I use with 28mm figs. It should work fine for a predator ship. Love the model BTW.

Dont see why it couldn't be used with 15mm as a larger type of transport. There arent many features to the kit which restrict it to one scale or the other. You might want to change the size of the cocpit window if using in 15mm.

Look at this option I bought:

And this is how I plan to paint that ship. What do you think?
