Seriously . . . How is telling Ed and Mike that 15mm is way behind 28mm in this subject "bumping"? TMP link I have been a BIG supporter of Bill's decisions on most things so far, and I know damn well that it is "Bill's house Bill's rules", but don't people know that they can view TMP topics on any board based on their start date instead of the most recent post on a thread? Why the hell is that TMP option there in the first place? Obviously, someone had to have ratted me out. Allen? Porfirio? ? So, I guess their topic got "buried" somehow. Boo- -hoo. Doesn't that know about that obvious TMP feature, available to all who are so sensitive about updating threads? Or . Besides, I feel it was a reasonable observation, that deserves further consideration. What gives? Dan PS. Since there's a clear TMP feature to view topics based on when they started, and all members have the option to view topics that way, I don't give a rat's ass what a post does to the order they show up otherwise. If that gets me DHd, then so be it. I can handle the short break. By the way, there's a serious need for someone to make Chupacabras for 15mm gaming: link |

Are they so desperate to ingratiate themselves with WD3 that they have become so anal about these things? Dan |

I guess I'm headed for a DH "break". Thanks everyone and keep posting cool and provocative ideas. I'll be reading them. Dan |

There ya go. Make it cool and fun, despite the occasional casualty. Dan PS. There's an obvious lapse in the bleeping feature. |

I'm gonna pour myself a tall one right now. Dan PS. We need more boobies! |
Chortle | 15 Jun 2010 10:39 p.m. PST |
I didn't know about that feature. I must be a beep. Thanks for pointing it out ;-) |
Cacique Caribe | 15 Jun 2010 10:42 p.m. PST |
Chortle: "I must be a beep." So sorry to imply such a thing about everyone. Please, please don't read that into what I said. I was angry, but did not mean to generalize. I'm just tired of the intolerant purists who want their way, despite the fact that accommodations have already been made for their wishes. Dan |

I think you are getting addicted to the DH. Have you considered therapy? memo: remember to attach':)' to this – never did learn how to do those blue face thingys. |
Cacique Caribe | 15 Jun 2010 10:53 p.m. PST |
LOL. Well, this will be my third(?) time there. Dan PS. I haven't seen my therapist in about 3 months. Now might be a good time for me to give him a call. Well, in the morning, that is. |

Looks like CC has discovered another way to bypass the filter. |
GeoffQRF | 16 Jun 2010 12:21 a.m. PST |
Don't think it's intentional, but yes, it does appear to have failed. Dan, chill out dude. :-) I'll make you some nice new Frenchies. |

"Are they so desperate to ingratiate themselves with WD3 that they have become so anal about these things? Dan" Dan, I'm probably a bit thick, but why the snipe at WD3? You may not have noticed, but many people are members of several forums. For instance, Bill himself is a member of both WD3 and Frothers. |

I'm afraid I'm one of the idiots. Sorry. And I don't care about people being silly, for whatever reason mine shows by start date and the topics slowly work their way to the bottom of the page. If I want to see them, I just scroll down. |

but don't people know that they can view TMP topics on any board based on their start date instead of the most recent post on a thread? Why the hell is that TMP option there in the first place? So in other words, if we don't want to see certain people driving their posts up to the top of a forum constantly, we have to completely change the way we read the board. Sorry, but you don't have to be an "idiot" to want to read a forum with the most active posts at the top. That's why there are rules on forums against bumping -- so that individuals don't abuse that by constantly putting themselves in everyone's face. A forum is a community of all people, it doesn't exist to satisfy one person. That's good because at times some people act like they own the board, and that's why simple rules of good behavior are useful to everyone. |

I intend to vote against keeping bumping a mortal sin when and if the Poll ever materializes. Talk about a trivial venial sin, like farting in church. |

I'm lost. CC did you get DH for replying to your own thread? Kinda of wierd if you did. Are we not allowed to reply to our own threads now? |

No, it was for his petulant name-calling and his foul mouth. YouTube link |

No, it was for his petulant name-calling and his foul mouth. Oh OK he wasn't DH when I first read this, I assumed he just got out and posted this thread. I can understand why he is in there now though. |

Dervel | 17 Jun 2010 2:23 a.m. PST |
Prince Rupert Actually somebody hit the complaint button on him for "bumping" because he replied to his own thread and they did not like it. Then he started this thread, and went to the dawghouse. Not sure if the original complaint would have taken him there or not. Obviously this thread did. And to answer the question, yes you can reply to your own thread if nobody complains or Bill does not care. If someone hits the complaint button you might be heading for the Dawghouse
it just depends. |

Really? How do you set the TMP Topics? I'd like to know. I can;t seem to find it. My front page is based on dates. And to think that I've done it this many years and have survived. |
28mmMan | 21 Jun 2010 6:54 a.m. PST |
"And to answer the question, yes you can reply to your own thread if nobody complains or Bill does not care. If someone hits the complaint button you might be heading for the Dawghouse
it just depends" So let us be clear here. If TMP Joe creates a thread then TMP Joe can not make any comments on the same thread? That must be a joke right? What about that weird thread where dozens of TMPers just kept making little posts to boost their posting count
surely every single member involved got dawghoused right? What is going on here? A guy mentions chupacabras in 15mm and brings older posts back to life and then he becomes public enemy number one? Hmmm I want to say something in particular but I am sure someone would take offense
so instead I will go with: jellybean banana split with crunchy peanut butter and plum jam sprinkled with toasted pine nuts and drizzled with wild flower honey You know what I mean? (insert various insults and remarks about unknown origins of birth and such :) Sigh
oh well
moving on. |
