Too funny. I can imagine the shock and horror they inspire in the run of the mill GW fanboyz.

GW effectively quashed them as anything but a novelty with the policy statement of the last couple years: "Do not mingle our IP with someone else's IP when doing conversions."

That keeps them out of tournaments. And if you aren't taking your work to a tournament, why bother?

AndrewGPaul15 Mar 2010 11:40 a.m. PST

Only official GW tournaments, and there's not many of those. In any case, tournaments aren't the only venue for you to show off your work.

A pink space marine army with cutey stuff (no licensed material needed)on it on the verge of winning an official GW Tournament alone should strike fear into any fanboy. Just imagine it winning grand prize and having the pink and white army, complete with cute pony and bunny rabbit standards on every sergeant, showcased in the next White Dwarf.

Hmmm….maybe I should consult my daughter for ideas
- Hot Pink and White armor with gold trim on officers

- replace all the skullz with hearts or clear plastic gemstones

- Veterans get red bows

- sergeant standards have cute cartoony (license-free) bunny rabbits, ponies, kittens, and flowers

- Land Raiders and Rhinos should have I "heart" Puppies across the front of them.

Reminds me of that Toyota Racing 'You Design It We Build It' commercial with Kimmy.

Back in August someone posted a picture of a 40k group with purples and pinks and red hearts with white trim I think, it was up for auction on ebay but the picture is gone now. It got a lot of ribbing.

Actually I had searched Google images and saw everything that was posted above. I was looking for a specific picture, which I was unable to find, hence the post. I did not realize that I should have explained my search strategy as well as its results, my mistake (see what happen when you assume stuff.) Thank you, war monkey that might have been it. As I recall the figure was glossy bubble gum pink.

War Monkey16 Mar 2010 7:23 a.m. PST

As I remember it was a whole set of spacemarines, terminators, and rhinos, it went for over 900 dollars on ebay. It may have been fluffy but the paint job was great.

CmdrKiley16 Mar 2010 7:39 a.m. PST

I remember one night we were playing Warmachine at our FLGS and needed an objective to hold in the center of the table. We looked around and found some Hello Kitty figure someone left at in the gaming room. It came from some McDonald's Happy Meal.

So we had our massive steam powered heavy warjacks beating each other up to get to the top of the hill just to hug the Hello Kitty idol.

Sargonarhes16 Mar 2010 10:00 a.m. PST

Oh and I thought you were remembering this one again.

"Do not mingle our IP with someone else's IP when doing conversions."

Of course, this statement begs the question, what if the conversion bits are *your* IP? It also effectively excludes the use of *any* outside sources of materials including historical model parts, household items, Ikea plastic bits adapted for making lascannons, ad nauseum. Too funny.evil grin

"And if you aren't taking your work to a tournament, why bother?"
