I hadn't heard about this before so perhaps others haven't as well. Plastic 28mm Hoplites coming from Immortal Miniatures.
Wah!
This quote from the Immortal Miniatures site:
"There will be 34 figures in total (32 Hoplite's, 1 piper and an optional ornately armoured command figure) comprising of 20 Hoplites wearing linen/composite armour, 4 with bronze armour and 8 un-armoured figures.
With a total of 64 components per infantry frame (plus the command frame) you will have enormous choice in helmets, crests, shields and weapons; allowing you to create very individual units.
These are in tooling and are expected to be on sale in the first quarter of 2010.
The price will be around £15, including transfers."
As I understand it, Immortal Miniatures is a very small operation and for them to start production of a plastic set is a very big undertaking.
Great news for the hobby!

Look nice!

Look quite good; 30 bucks for 34 figs isn't bad in any sense!

I do wish they were mixed a tad more evenly or weren't mixed at all, but I guess I can always trade off the ones I don't use.

Yes, been waiting, and waiting… :)

Out 24th April at Salute in London. The wait will soon be over. I really believe these will be amazing. The Greek and Persian Wars were my first ever wargaming figures.

They look good!

These have already been known to be under work for the last half a year or so – the greens have been visible for quite a while, too.

This will get me to start putting together more Greeks for sure. I'll probably order them when they come out along with a few packs of the new spartans which look superb.

Anyone have any idea how they will mix with Foundry? I already have loads painted, and would like to add maybe, a few thousand of these, if the fit is right. They look great.

Patrick R07 Feb 2010 6:37 a.m. PST

I have the Foundry Argonauts and the shields don't match at all with Immortal.

BravoX07 Feb 2010 6:52 a.m. PST

It was news 6 months ago, but still they're great and I will definitely be buying some.

oldbob07 Feb 2010 7:36 a.m. PST

Oh yes, I'll be adding loads of them to my unpainted piles, just love them Greekie guys! There is no hope for me.

I am going Greek crazy ! I need more figures, like a hole in my head! Well it looks like I will be wearing a cap then! Mike Adams

Do Immortal Miniatures Metal and Plastics range match up with Foundry World of Greeks range as well as Gorgon Miniatures?

So, some people knew about them before , but I could not find any TMP thread after searching under "Immortal" so I started the thread.
If anyone has any tips to make searching more effective, I'd appreciate it!

Just as interesting will be Immortal's new transfers to go with the Hoplites:

The long-awaited figures are the only reason I'll start a hoplite army for WAB. Don't they look like fun?

Sir Sidney Ruff Diamond08 Feb 2010 2:53 a.m. PST

Acharnement they were shown on their website last year. Think there was a thread but threads can be easy to miss.

Ref size I think Immortal are a little slimmer than Foundry but similar height. But the release notes for the new Spartans on TMP did say this-
"These figures are slightly bigger than my first hoplites. I have purposely sculpted them in this way to fit in with the upcoming plastics (which will be released at Salute!)."

Those transfers look neat too.

This was the main thread from last July….
