WOW! Very nice.

I decided to get back into ancients just at the right time, methink!

paintingden17 Jul 2009 12:13 p.m. PST

These look great.

SECURITY MINISTER CRITTER17 Jul 2009 12:16 p.m. PST

I wonder if I could lose some of my other Hoplites?…

Personal logo Dentatus Sponsoring Member of TMP Fezian17 Jul 2009 12:19 p.m. PST

Wow! Those are nice indeed. I might have to get a phalanx just to paint up.

Sapphon17 Jul 2009 12:24 p.m. PST

I agree…. WOW. These are really nice!

Gloria Smud17 Jul 2009 12:27 p.m. PST

Awesome!

Jim Bowen17 Jul 2009 12:28 p.m. PST

these look very promising

TKindred17 Jul 2009 12:35 p.m. PST

yes indeed. Too bad about the unarmoured and bronze armoured ones. However, that won't stop me from getting some.

Gotta finish the republican Romans first, though.

But yeah… I can see a bucketload of these in my future.

willievonluck17 Jul 2009 12:41 p.m. PST

They look great except for the last one. His forearm/wrist/hand looks a little unnatural. Might just be the normal "weird pose issue" you always get with multi-part plastics though. Otherwise, very nice!

wrgmr117 Jul 2009 12:43 p.m. PST

Very nice!! Makes we wat to sell my OG and buy some of these!

Norscaman17 Jul 2009 1:14 p.m. PST

Nice! How big? 40mm like the others?

That general is crackin'!

Oh! Those are lovely!
I may have to consider replacing my Ral Parthas.
Sigh!

basileus6617 Jul 2009 1:32 p.m. PST

Beautiful figures! Congrats and good luck!

BravoX17 Jul 2009 1:44 p.m. PST

The greens look fantastic!

If the finished product is close to this I will definitely be buying some.

Pictors Studio17 Jul 2009 1:54 p.m. PST

Those are very nice. Aren't they 28mm though?

ArchiducCharles17 Jul 2009 1:58 p.m. PST

I too was under the impression they were 28mm…

headzombie17 Jul 2009 2:07 p.m. PST

:-O

Big Al17 Jul 2009 2:11 p.m. PST

According to their website they are 28mm

khurasanminiatures17 Jul 2009 2:23 p.m. PST

These look fantastic! Best of luck with them.

harbaugh8717 Jul 2009 2:34 p.m. PST

The best yet – keep up the great work!

Madan Mitra17 Jul 2009 2:49 p.m. PST

FINALLY! sign me up for an Army of these boys, they look great.

kallman17 Jul 2009 3:13 p.m. PST

Well I hope they match with my Foundry/Vendal/ Artizan Spartans and Greeks. So far the excellent plastics that have been coming out for ancients that claim to be 28mm are the smaller and slighter size 28 mm and just do not match with my current collection.

Regardless if this gets more folks wanting to collect Ancients then I am all for it. The figures do look good.

Jojojimmyjohn17 Jul 2009 3:13 p.m. PST

Wow. Beautiful figs.

Moonbeast17 Jul 2009 3:16 p.m. PST

Aw crap…*sticks fingers in ears, shuts eyes, and hums loudly*

aecurtis Fezian17 Jul 2009 3:21 p.m. PST

What was it that Hedley Lamarr (Harvey Korman) said about Douglas Fairbanks Sr.?

Gattamalata17 Jul 2009 4:07 p.m. PST

Are Immortal Miniatures' figures 28mm to the eyes or the head? If the former, I could use parts of these forthcoming plastics, especially the heads, with GW ones for DoW pikemen.

oldbob17 Jul 2009 4:20 p.m. PST

such beautiful toys, I will be buying some, that's for sure!

Norscaman17 Jul 2009 4:32 p.m. PST

Admitedly, I may be thinking of another 40mm Greek company… Icon Miniatures maybe?

Roderick Robertson Fezian17 Jul 2009 4:38 p.m. PST

"How did he do those amazing stunts with such small hands?"

Norscaman17 Jul 2009 4:39 p.m. PST

I apologize. Somehow, I was thinking of First Legion.

Patrick R17 Jul 2009 4:40 p.m. PST

Dunno if they will fit with Foundry. I have some of the Argonauts and their shields are much smaller than the Immortal ones.

DeanMoto17 Jul 2009 4:54 p.m. PST

I definitely NEED that helmet with two crests – yeah, coming from a guy with a bunch of unpainted OG & 1st Corps Hoplites staring back at him still. A welcome set for sure!

Patrick R17 Jul 2009 5:29 p.m. PST

The double crested helmet can be found in the metal hoplite command set

Excellent! Damn, just when you think you can resist buying more cool stuff…

Augustus Supporting Member of TMP17 Jul 2009 7:17 p.m. PST

Sold.

noraneko17 Jul 2009 8:20 p.m. PST

Wow. I'm getting those for sure.

McWong7318 Jul 2009 1:23 a.m. PST

The feet aren't that small Allen.

Field Marshal18 Jul 2009 2:13 a.m. PST

Now this is a period close to my heart. As a kid the Greeks were my favourite (witha name like Jason no wonder!). Surprisingly I never got into the period for wargaming…..now is the prime opportunity!

EagleSixFive18 Jul 2009 2:17 a.m. PST

Every bit as nice as your metals Steve.. Very impressive.

Porkmann18 Jul 2009 3:03 a.m. PST

They look great but can you do something about the shields?

They are too flat!

(The one on the officer has a better degree of concavity but the standard Hoplite's one looks like its been steam-rollered!)

deanoware18 Jul 2009 3:10 a.m. PST

Great sculpts. Will definitely add at least one box to my collection!

Pompey The Great18 Jul 2009 9:12 a.m. PST

These will be the first Plastics I will buy.

Superb Stuff!

Keep up the Great Work.

AndrewGPaul18 Jul 2009 10:19 a.m. PST

I wonder how these will stand up next to Crocodile Games' Spartans?

elcid109918 Jul 2009 11:35 a.m. PST

Uh-oh

CthulhuPunk18 Jul 2009 1:48 p.m. PST

Absolutely great sculpts. I very much look forward to their release.

14th Brooklyn20 Jul 2009 5:28 a.m. PST

I wonder how these will stand up next to Crocodile Games' Spartans?

Me too!!!

wargame insomniac20 Jul 2009 7:32 a.m. PST

I suspect these will be smaller than Crocidle Games heroic 28mm figures.

They do look very nice. And with a small number of Immortal Minatures metal hoplites for variety will look great on table.

Cheers

James

Galatians!!

I looked at these on the 19th and the urge was there to get some. Today it dawned on me that you could do some head and sheild swaps with the plastic celts to make some Galatians. I know as a goony gamer I will have to do them for a sucessor Army to make some uniquely Galatian units.

The possibilities are endless. Celts with a hoplite helmet, hoplites with Celtic shields. I can't wait.
