They say a picture is worth a thousand words. I just saved typing 300,000 words because I have about 300 pictures in the following pdfs (links below). When perusing Mr. Hefner's publication, I didn't really read the articles much (never even bothered to see what flavor of ice cream was the young maiden's favorite) --what I am saying is if you want to feast your eyes, each pdf has pictures that will relay the story. If you do want to read something, I did a brief 2/12 page commentary on each scenario to give you a sense of what happened. If you would like further info on game mechanics or player decisions and such, feel free to post here and I will check in on this thread and respond. The Pdfs can be opened using adobe viewer (if you don't have it --google it and it is free to download) I suggest the following. To view the pictures select the view tab along the top of your adobe screen. Click and go down to rotate counterclockwise. Then select view in one page. That will turn the image and make it easier to view them by scrolling through. At any point you may zoom in and see details (I zoomed in to 800 magnification and the detail showed just a bit of pixilation -so the pictures are pretty big and you will see the detail well). Well that's enough words for now
Enjoy!

I have contacted bill to repair the link to scenario 2. Thank you for your patience and hopefully it can be restored in the first message. |

the offending 3 letters that have been bleeped in the link to scenario 2 are capital letters and with no spacing. They correspond to this gentleman's initials: William Thomas Franklin Hopefully you get the idea. |

Those E-Webs really earned their keep! Glad to see the figs getting use :) |

CC--yeah--the E-web you gave me was so cool I had to pick up a second one. To think it all started with about 8 or 9 hoth snowtroopers and some rebs in a trade with you two years ago! The Imperial player rushed his troops in front of the E-web and I told him he couldn't fire with out hitting his guys. so he moves them into the corridor and then the imperial player asked : can I blast through the wall? What am I going to say to an 11 year old imperial commander--why --heck yeah you can blast through the wall!!! He actually took out 2 smaller walls and sections of the 2 taller walls. good move on the imperial player's part! |

Should links even be scanned by the bleep-o-matic? Really, that's going a little too far. That's silly that this even happened. |

Custer, as always very well done. I like the photography. You really get a "cinematic" feel for your scenario. The images from under the legs of the AT-ATs look down on the battle field are very nice! |

I got a chance to look at the pdfs over lunch today. Those are some outstanding photos. I love the models point view pictures the most. It really helps put you there. That's a lot of computer packing foam you've got there! |

Delthos-- Glad you enjoyed the reports!!! I really like getting the various points of view (macro from above and micro from the figure's viewpoint) because I agree that it places the veiwer in the action. With the larger sized figure (3 inch) it is easier to obtain those shots. I also have the use of a great digital camera (thanks to the boss!) for the game. AHHH --the foam
.. Let me tell you about that. I had the very good fortune of obtaining it from a former spanish tutor we had on staff. he worked at a High school language lab that upgraded the entire computer lab. He brought me about 70 comuputers worth of that foam. I have about 4 boxes of the stuff. I love it because it was precut into shapes that fit into one another so I can use it as tall pieces like the walls for the princess lea escape corridors or small pieces like the hills in the sensor patrol scenario. It also cuts very easily with my exacto knives and thus making shapes and trenches and MG pits was very simple and quick. i love the stuff. I also have a huge collection of the beaded styrofoam in storage with several uniquely shaped pieces. I used a few of those kind of pieces (but just plain solid rectengular shapes) for under the white sheet to create the hills for the rebels position. I am a big proponent of repurposing items and have an assortment of plastic containers and other such miscellanea for terrain and structure purposes. Cheers! |

This looks like a great deal of fun. I bought a number of these (not this many!) with the same idea in mind. I had even considered do this as a side board activity for my 30mm Star Wars battles for the heroic encounters. I wondered what what type of die you used for the rules and what special rules you had for heroes and droids? Lost Pict |

That looks great. I especially like the large scale figs for this sort of thing. It would make a great convention game. Thanks for sharing your battle reports, and all of the pics. What rules did you use for your battles? |

Custer, I hate to sound dense, but searched the links and PDFs and did not see any guidance on what to do with heroes, Luke, Darth, etc. Likewise, what DXX to use for your to hit charts. Specific guidance appreciated. Thick Lost Pict |

LostPict, UMMM, questions ask you for answers you know not, Ummm, sorry be not, dense be not, wise be you
ummm my inner yoda appreciates your questions padawan. LOL Since luke and Darth were the only characters with force abilites, I used umpire descretion and had players roll for the effect desired. Example. When Luke in scenario 1 jumped and bounded from sensor to sensor and then slashed through the droids, I had each rebel player (2 of them) roll a die. If it was the same number the action occurred. They both rolled a 2 and thus the action was allowed. In the case of Darth, the only real force use he had was a force push of the taun tauns in scenario 4: a roll of the dice by the imperial commander indicated distance thrown. To keep it simple all movement and weapons fire was based on either the rebel trooper or imperial snowtrooper stats. D6 was only dice used. one of the inside jokes that came about out of the game was about Chewbacca. If you read the text only report you will notice that the wookie is named in scenario 1 munchbacca and in scenario 4 masticatebacca. Since the wookie died in both scenarios we decided that canon could not be destroyed and thus a long lost wookie cousin was the departed and not our dear chewbacca. (Munch and masticate of course being alternate words for chew) ;P hope that provided some help. |
