Someone had a comparison of washes on a similar figure – paint and water, paint and Future, ink, paint and some combination of water and Future, etc. – and I've lost the link. Does anyone know of the article I am referring to and have the link? I believe it was in a blog. Thanks, Dale |

Great topic. I use washes as part of an overall strategy that might include highlighting, puddling (very wet surface highlight) and drybrushing. I think only practice will improve my results. I've picked up some inks at various craft and art stores to use as washes
- Adirondac Alcohol Inks – Ginger, Caramel, Latte. Not sure how colorfast and workable an Alcohol ink is
but I will find out tomorrow. - Dr. John Radient Concentrated Water Color – Coffee Brown, Beige, Reddish Brown. Since these are water color they are not color fast and bleed into colors applied over the top of them with the expected result. Might work fine if sealed or left alone. – Formula P3 Warmachine brown ink. Nice bottle design.
I have not tried all of these inks but I am hopeful for success without having to gloss my figures first. I am not holding my breath on that working out very well though. |

Unfortunately, that is not it (although I did read that one). There were more than three comparisons. Maybe like six different ways? The conclusion was that pure Future was better than a mix of Future and water. It also showed how bad diluted inks were. |
