28mmman, Shapeways has clear resins that you could prototype; just give it a blue wash tint.

Dropzone: great youtube link…great stuff Lampyridae: shapeways? is that a brand of resin? I have a manufacturer just down the road, 3 hrs, and they have a great ultra clear. A blue tint would look so much better than a blue wash, IMO. I have cast items to gain a close effect and the cast tint was so much deeper and organic.

I watched the video but really ever saw a good look at the Brutes (which I would LOVE). It's not so much a clear image as the intent – look at the way they move and fight. Their physical weight, stature and menace. Mark

Agreed the brutes reminded me of how a real world Hulk/Thing would fight…wading through ground troops. Was cool no doubt.

The Brutes are awesome in that they fight with impunity and though they are obviously not subtly spiffy tech aliens, they are still not reduced to simply sci-fi orcs. They still fight with tech, but they do it in a "brutish" way without comic relief (GW Orks).
