* Need more choices of buildings? For humans? For aliens? * SF furniture/fixtures? * Specific vehicles? * Specific machinery/equipment? * Animals? * Plants? * Something else? If so, what exactly? NOTE: I am not talking about combat figures here. Just stuff some might call "accessories", that may few or no choices available. Thanks. CC |

Most of the above, and including buildings too, although the latter may be fairly large, and expensive to purchase. It may be better to scratch-build them, especially when one factors in the cost, and assuming you have the time and materials to build them. What would be nice is if someone would produce skins for standard items, so we could make our own at home, from common materials, e.g. 2" x 4"'s, tin or soda cans, plastic bottles, styrofoam or blue/pink insulation boards, etc. Lightweight substructural materials would be best, to aid transportability. |

TGA: "What would be nice is if someone would produce skins for standard items, so we could make our own at home" What do you mean by "skins", exactly? CC |

Some more building accessories. Doors, windows, vents antenna arrays etc. Like the GZG but different. Variety is after all the spice of life. This way I can buy both sets and have different looking buildings. Someone with some money could try selling a small transport like the Serenity' that could sit on table. Not sure how many of us could afford it though, I don't think we're the same sorts of rabid fanboys who all charged out to buy the resin Titans and pewter Thunderhawk gunships for 40K. |

Civilian vehicles. Utility haulers. Farm machinery. Mining machinery. Cargo loaders for the space dock. Cargo should look like reusable fold down shipping containers too, not wooden crates! |

I've got some accessories coming up for modern and sci fi gaming in 15mm. I am awaiting delivery of two different hole markers for the giant ants and the parasachnids -- one a bug-made big hole in the ground, another an abandoned mineshaft that the parasachnids (or ants) have infested. I probably just jinxed myself by publicly announcing this as the package is late in the mail from France!!! The same sculptor is now working on two other items as tabletop accessories for 15mm modern/sci fi gaming -- two items that are virtually iconic, though AFAIK no one makes them. I think you guys will like them but mums the word on what they are for now. |

I just looked at a couple hi tech structures that members had made for their own purposes and a few comments struck home so I thought I would mention. Radar (I have been an electronics tech since 1983) can basically look one of three ways: dish, link although this is the classic "sci-fi" version it is actually used for microwave and communication antennas and transmitters more so than radars
but there are radars in use using this style, but they are big and use huge amounts of power. array, the bar style swinging or sweeping type usually found on mobile setups like boats and vehicles link most of these are powerful but speciallized. domed, the point of my input today link these are protected radar platforms and are used from 20' boats through massive air port support units. The domes keep the dust, dirst, sand, and weather in general away from the surfaces
which is a good thing, especially if in the desert or on the water. Domed would be most logical for gaming, as they are much easier to create
vending toy container "egg". And if dealing with hazzardous conditions it would protect the equipment. Just a thought
carry on with your normal routines :) |

"Skins" in computer gaming, are various camo'd options for vehicles. In a miniatures context, they would be colored pieces of paper that can be wrapped around objects, to make them look like buildings, due to their artwork, e.g. doors, windows, and other details you can glue on objects. |

There's plenty of skins about as paper downloads, if that's what you mean. Like these link Some free, some to buy. Metal and concrete textures available as well as the usual brick. The Beamstrike Yahoo Group has some SF doors and windows free for download as well. |

Question: What about small watercraft, such as boats, jetskis, etc? TMP link CC |
| Rudysnelson | 09 Nov 2009 2:50 p.m. PST |
Much of the supporting items can be made without much problem by useing resin. Radar dishes both large vehicle mounted and small squad sizes. Personal fighting platforms for individuals, a 2-3 man teram or even a squad deployment craft whether anti-grav, hover or flight capable. JR Miniatures has/had a 25mm range of rooms and support items such as control panels, beds, medical items, otehr items. Similar items in 15mm would be nice. |
