Need help finding Apes in 15mm and 25/28mm for a
Planet of the Apes game.Anyone know of a company that has them?

Cacique Caribe15 Oct 2009 6:11 p.m. PST

A lot of us have been asking for them in 15mm for quite a while now . . .

Anyone know if someone is working on them, or should I just give up?

Which version?

Eureka does some in 28mm

They do Boiler suit Apes. The only Apes being done that look like those in the 1st and 2nd POA movies are in 35-40mm, IIRC.

Thanks,

John

John,

Do you mean the big ones from Monolith (Cliffhanger)?

Eureka used to make them; from a friend's site: andrewnz2.tripod.com/id61.html

Yeah, that's the Company. They are very large. Nice though.

Thanks,

John

Guys,

Nothing suitable yet for 15mm, right?

There are some new ones due out, but the website has no photos and I know others have asked for phots but had no response. I did receive a 'send you them Monday' answer and that was at least a month ago now. So we don't know if these are suitable, but from the descriptions, it seems they are.

The other iffy bit is that no-one has seen them!

Cacique Caribe16 Oct 2009 1:28 a.m. PST

Iceaxe,

What size are those supposed to be?

Yes it doesn't say what scale those new ones are supposed to be. I am hoping 28mm.

The Monolith ones look really nice. Are they still in business? Has anyone ordered thier Apes?

I've bought some of the Eureka Boiler Suit apes, and am currently removing the weapons and details to add the 'classic' POTA uniforms and weapons. (Wish I could find some of the OOP Ape figures.)

I'd contact Rob from Eureka. I'm sure he can assist.

I am curious as to the potential here.

What would be that certain something that would make a 15mm ape-man all that different from a 15mm human?

This would seem to be the ultimate man in a rubber suit issue.

Not saying it is a bad idea. But other than an ape face and maybe a slight body alignment issue I would think they will look like ugly men.

I am looking for ideas on the design side of the house.

What details would separate the ape from the man?

"But other than an ape face and maybe a slight body alignment issue I would think they will look like ugly men"

Overall build is the main key though.

I used to have an even better link to an image of all the great apes (including humans) without any hair. It really accentuated all the amazing differences in musculature and proportions.

It used to be here:

I'll try to find it again.

Nope, Eureka can't help with the oop figures. I tried that a while ago and they said that they still have the molds, but can't produce them due to a silly 'cease and decist' order not to make them.

If you know any different, let me know.

Thanks everyone for the info.Maybe one day they will make them again

iceaxe16 Oct 2009 4:22 p.m. PST

CC, I believe Blazeaway's figs are 28mm, but as noted, they haven't provided the information, so it is an ill-educated guess.

Personal logo timurilank Supporting Member of TMP17 Oct 2009 2:08 p.m. PST

Why not use the 28mm ape for 15s? For my 15mm Goblin/Orc army I do use the 25mm Goblins as a warrior class and orcs, as even larger savage types.

John Leahy Sponsoring Member of TMP18 Oct 2009 8:36 p.m. PST

The Apes look too large. Guns would be way too big. Goblins are smaller so can work. I don't think the 25mm POA figs could work for 15mm.

YMMV.

Thanks,

John
