I keep thinking that if I can just hit the enter key fast enough, I'll see one with zero hits before the electrons make it to the whosiwhatsis that forms the "1". To date, I have always been disappointed.

I have also never yet been able to catch the little man who turns the light off when I close the refrigerator.

Everyone needs a goal to aim at.

A man's reach should exceed his grasp, or what's a Heaven for?

GoodBye09 Oct 2009 8:08 a.m. PST

When you post it counts as 1 hit I think.

Grizwald09 Oct 2009 11:49 a.m. PST

Funny, I'd never noticed the hit count before.

andygamer09 Oct 2009 11:56 a.m. PST

Actually, I think there was a bug once that affected the hit count so it would show "0". I think there's the odd one where the counter gets stuck at a low number too.

Addendum: The counter for this thread reads "2" but there are three posts.

Yes, naturally, the counter is counting REPLIES !

andygamer10 Oct 2009 10:10 p.m. PST

No, it's counting the number of comments. (The initial comment is "1".)

Connard Sage11 Oct 2009 3:36 a.m. PST

No, it's counting the number of hits. That's why it called the hit counter…

303 hits since 9 Oct 2009

I don't see 303 posts on this page…

Addendum: The counter for this thread reads "2" but there are three posts.

and that is the post counter, not the hit counter.

It's good to know that I'm not the only computer numpty in town :)

I never noticed the hit counter before. I can now see that it is different from the number of posts on the thread. That could be a useful tool to use.
