Does anyone know the name of the French General killed at the Battle of Lake George in 1755? I know that Dieskau was wounded and died in 1767. Pierre-Andre de Montreuil was also wounded and took over after Dieskau was captured. St. Pierre who led the Indians was killed but Anglo-American sources quoting Dieskau (supposedly) say the Dieskau said his Major General was killed as well as St. Pierre.

Has a series of documents translated from French derived from the French archives.

No mention of another general but possible candidates could be:

Chevaier de Furjonieres: captain Regt Languedoc

M de Parfoura 2nd picquet of Regt Languedoc

M Bernier ADC to Dieskau

plus 2 captains & 1 ensign from the CfdM

I don't believe there was one killed there. It could be a translation thing, and it could have referred to another position or staff member.
