"The Pledge update for SEPTEMBER 2009" Topic

Time once again for the pledge update, since I'm not getting any painting done today.

Started the month off at +60 for the year.

Purchased: Space Hulk, -35 minis.
and I ordered some stuff from Heresy but that hasn't come in yet so it will count next month.

The second part of my yearly pledge is to finish up a project a month. Didn't make it this month, although the French WWII army is getting there, as is my Shadowforge Dark Temple army. For the year it's 9 projects done in 9 months, so there is a bit of progress.

Wow – I forgot I even participated in this program this year! Well, truth be told for September, I purchased 9 new tanks, painted all nine new tanks, painted three mortars, 12 crewmen, 4 old tanks purchased earlier in the year, have all of the tanks purchased this year primed, assembled, and awaiting the final touches, and I've primed and started another 30 infantry. I painted three new aircraft purchased this month (to go to convention!), and finished one other aircraft.

So, I am still -60 figures, but that should zero out or be close to zero next month when I finish the early war stuff I purchased this spring.

This year I've painted a lot of 10mm and 15mm, but have mostly bought 28mm.
I've started using a points system: 10mm = 1pt, 15mm = 2, 28mm = 5, cav are double. so far I'm:

I did finish the painting for my Warmaster Ancients project this month: 2 1000 pt armies (EIR and Dacians) done. So currently I've been painting both 15mm and 28mm WWII, but I need to get into the horde of plastics I've bought soon.

I avoided the show at Partizan so that helped unfortuneately its Derby this weekend and I've all ready pre ordered from Baccus so next months stats look bad allready and it aint October yet,!!!!!

Hi Kids, Had a smashing month, mostly because I quit my job and had a lot more free time. Too bad I can't afford the lifestyle of the idle rich for much longer.

If it weren't for my desire to play Darkest Africa games I wouldn't need that many plants! I'm hoping I can still break even while attending Southern Front and Fall-In.

Not a good month. Couldn't finish any projects though I have quite a few going. That and I picked up about 200 new figure, vehicles and terrain. Should keep my busy next month.

I didn't get much painting done this month because I was abducted by space aliens and don't remember what happened for 3 weeks. Or at least that's what it felt like.

Purchases: 15 blisters from Reaper, thanks to close-out sales and the Recruits flea market, 1 from Grenadier, 1 from Ral Partha, and a pack of 25 cute furry little guys from Splintered Light. (counts as 1)

Painted: 2 Black Scorpion US Marines, 1 Thunderbolt Mtn figure, 1 Magnificent Egos wolfwere, 1 Fenryll pumpkin, and I Reaper elf.

Painted in September – 2 LOTR Warg riders,7 15mm adventurers, 3 15mm elementals, 5 WFB chaos warriors, 1 chaos terminator, 1 25mm ghost, 3 Epic Thunderhawk gunships, 1 pumpkin, 6 Martian Askari, 2 Mighty Emppire tiles, 1 Hasslefree sci fi character. Not a bad month. Bought – nothing. At all. Apart 48 cheap plastic romans, but if my wife won't release them until Christmas, I won't count them until Christmas…

For the year I'm 140 painted figures better off, most of the improvement in 25mm. I've painted a lot of 15mm, but I've bought a lot of 15mm as well. That's holding steady. I've not bought much 25mm since I swore off GW at the last price hike, so thank you GW!

I've missed a couple of threads. Here's my update. As of my last report at the end of June, my total for the year is 256.

Since then, I've painted a lot of Perry's:
July – 30 samurai
August – 47 samurai and choson
September – 6 samurai

Total for year – 339 28mm miniatures

That comes to 42 per month. I've got to paint 87 per month to make my 50 per month goal. Not going to happen. Although, I did get Cavalcade Wargames off the ground and many new miniatures in production.

Woo hoo! The lead pile has shrunk by 3153 so far, and I'm still ahead of my 4:1 goal. I have plans to not purchase any this month (Ha!), so I'm going to see if I can get to a +3600 by the end of the year (painting time will be very limited in October).
