Hi all

Well its that time again

Last months update
TMP link

Another month passes and another month closer to the end of the year…..

August totals (Not good!!!)

Painted
6mm – 72 (8 x bases of cavalry)
28mm – 8 (8 of my French)

Bought
6mm – 99 (pledge breaker special from Evil Uncle Pete at Baccus)

Monthly profit -19
Yearly Profit – 702
Ready Locker – 894 (Oops)
Monthly Target – 223.5 (rising nicely)

Well what happened!!! – Started a new job so busy with that and not had much motivation to paint – even 1 colour a day seemed a lot. Mind you once I started my Cavalry I actually enjoyed painting them (And I hate Cavalry!!!!).

I have had a bit of a blitz with my 6mm Highlanders over the weekend and they are almost finished so will help towards next month total… I cant see me completing all the figs by the end of the year but I'll try my best.

I have a show next sunday so that could see my pledge go right out of the window…

Plan from no on
1) Try and paint the monthly target
2) Stop buying figs…..

Still for an off month, not bad.

I have the following…

72 Essex 15mm Dwarves
24 Chariot Dwarf Pikemen
13 Ral Partha 15mm Elf Archers
4 Demon World Elf Horse Archers
3 Foundry 28mm Vikings (15mm Fire Giants)

Not bad since I had not painted in about 4 months. That shrinks the Fanatsy pile. I still have a decent chunk left.

Mostly I just finished up stuff started in July.

1x QRF Gazelle

30x CinC Char B1
2x IL28
2x Mig 15
2x Mig17

August Total: 83 painted, 0 purchased

No no no!!!! Don't make me confess my failure again!!!!

Confess, you must confess, Quenches…..

Anyhow, I'm still ahead, but the tally took a big hit.

Starting off for the month at +181

Painted:
British 15mm colonial infantry 16
Shadowforge Centaurs: 10
Shadowforge Dark Temple hoplites: 16
French Napoleonic infantry: 32

Purchased:
28mm Zulus: 90
Bronze Age figures: 16
Sash & Sabre 40mm AWI: 22
Assorted 15mm WWII stuff: 100

Converting it all to the 28mm equivalents we get: +58. Still ahead for the year but it's going down!

The other part of my pledge is to finish up one project a month. This month was the British 15mm colonial force, so I am successful! This year I'm at 9 projects completed in 8 months and I'm still ahead on painted vs. purchased, so the pledge worketh for me. We'll see how the year turns out, all it takes is one good sale somewhere…..

TodCreasey31 Aug 2009 6:44 p.m. PST

Painted
17 15mm vehicles
76 15mm WWII

Purchased
21 15mm vehicles
60 15mm WWII

-2 vehicles +8 for the month. -154 for the year

But there is a lot on the table that will be finished this week so I have high hopes for the September totals.

I have been too embarrassed to show my face on these threads for several months now…

highlandcatfrog01 Sep 2009 12:08 p.m. PST

Well, my math or typing was a little off last month, so I was actually 2444 to the good going in.

I gave a few away, I was given a few, and I bought a few. Got a bit more painting done than expected, hopefully that will continue.

Painted:
1/2000 Napoleonic Naval – 7
1/285 WW II planes – 13
15 mm ACW – 126
15 mm Ancients – 36

Gave away – 32

Total: + 214

Bought 21, was given 6. Total: 27

Change for the month: + 187

2444 + 187 = + 2631 YTD to the good side.

Total bought (and given) YTD is 622, so I'm still ahead of my 4:1 painted:bought ratio.

I'm hoping to achieve +3000 (in other words 3000 less unpainted than I started with) by the end of the year.

Now that August is actually over:

Bought 37 new figures at GenCon. Thank you to all the vendors who went this year. I got Reaper, Darksword, Croc Games, some stuff at the Warstore, the auction, and others.

Painted:

4 reaper fantasy
4 reaper elves
1 ral partha fantasy
4 ral partha dungeon furniture
2 paizo goblins
1 croc games priestess
1 confrontation priestess
3 knuckleduster cowboys
1 knuckleduster bawdy house girl
2 shadowforge western women
1 reaper chronoscope
1 darksword fantasy

25 total (best month of the year so far)

Annual stats: 75 painted out of 116 bought.

Chuckaroobob01 Sep 2009 7:21 p.m. PST

Hi Kids, I painted a decent amount in August, surprisingly enough.

Painted: 60 25mm Balkan War Turks from Tiger Minis.
48 small terrain bits, mostly for jungle games.

Bought: ZERO. Shocking, I know!

Yearly total so far: -196.

But hey, it's progress in the correct direction. Maybe, just maybe, I can climb back up to the positive numbers by Dec 31st.

Barks105 Sep 2009 3:22 a.m. PST

It was positive, but not positive enough.

Bought 20, painted 44. Leave me at -170 for the year so far.

I'm really going to have to pull my finger out to break even. It may yet be possible.

GypsyComet08 Sep 2009 1:47 p.m. PST

Light purchases, but lighter painting.

15 purchased, 10 (of July's GZG horde) finished, with another 20 well under way.
