Old school entomalians to rampage across your sci fi, fantasy, horror, pulp, or lovecraftian tabletop! Also make great aliens for Victorian sf. Sculpted by Whiff Waff, they can be seen here: link |

"Spearbearer"? As in the Shakespearean "on-stage extra supposed to look dangerous in large numbers" Spearbearer? |

Very nice. Useful as small bugmen in 28mm, too. |

Spearbearer as in the rhinoceros spear bearer, the carnivorous katydid these were inspired by. |

Sweet! Horde cronies for the Ixx! |

Those are neat. Looks like you could easily convert them into aliens with hands too. The way the scythes are positioned, a quick snip and a little putty work and they could be holding, spears, swords, shields or even ray guns. Good job! -Eli |

I had them painted up in the now-fashionable Prawn mottle. But I am painting up some myself in their basic emerald green, as per the original bug, and will post pics, that is, if the photos don't come out horribly! |

Nice. Almost makes me want to spend my slowly accumulating 28MM fund into it ;) ALMOST. |

Aliens don't need hands. That's what's so great about these guys – straight out of a bad movie. But one with a human head and hands would make a great cast member on break. |

Weren't there bugmen in Battlestar Galactica? "Ovions occasionally prowl discreetly on the entertainment level, but generally remain out of sight. Individual humans are trapped selectively when they enter the elevator, and are taken into the hive-like structures underground instead of their desired destination. They are then placed into chambers which slowly transform them into food." link picture picture link link CC |

Bugmen are a pretty popular theme in sci fi, horror and fantasy -- popular enough for me to commission two different kinds, straight so called realistic types and retro suit guys. Lizardmen too! I think the overlord dude in the original show was kind of lizardy. |
