These are deployed by drop pod by the Pelagic Dominate, often hours, days or even weeks before an invasion. They sew mayhem in the enemy lines, as they are able to stalk the enemy whilst nearly invisible, slowly creeping forward or ensconced in an ambush position, standing motionless for hours or even days before striking precisely and with lightning speed. If the invasion fails, they often go feral and constitute a major menace to the sentient population. Two stalking poses, two striking poses. picture |

Stop making me want to do 15mm sci-fi! I have boxes of unpainted lead already
|
Steve Hazuka | 10 Oct 2009 12:38 p.m. PST |
I think if you would take pictures of thse seperately and linked together they would be the "dancing mantis" If you even scan with your eyes down the line it looks like it's dancing. |
Top Gun Ace | 10 Oct 2009 12:53 p.m. PST |
Those look pretty cool. I especially like the bulging eyes

I don't have any Khurasan yet, but these minis have won me over. They look fantastic. Are there any more coming out? 6-legged versions, for example? |
JRacel | 10 Oct 2009 1:03 p.m. PST |
These are very nice! I think I could use a nice force of them with my Spug army . . . . when do they go on sale? This is what has been killing me, I no sooner place an order and you already have a new item that I want. It's like you guys are crack pushers always ready with that next "better" hit. It's so bad . . . . but hurts so good! :) Jeff |

What the
Again with totally cool figures. Not only are you getting lots made, but the figures are all so unique and just so nice. |
khurasanminiatures | 10 Oct 2009 1:40 p.m. PST |
Thanks guys glad you like them. I don't even have them yet! I'll get them out to the caster after I get them but it will probably be a month or two before they are available, so no crack pushing involved. By the way, I misspelled sow. |
Moonbeast | 10 Oct 2009 3:06 p.m. PST |
"By the way, I misspelled sow." I dunno
with arms like that they might be impressive needle point sewers. Edit: You're killin' me.I'll have to add these to "the list"
*sigh* |

These will push me over the edge for my 2nd order. Let us knoiw when. Especailly as they look perfect for reposing. I have the Space Demons and 2 of those poses were also easy to repose. Keep the designs repose friendly. |

Hey how about the Galaxy Quest Alien as their leader. He sort of looks buggy. picture |
khurasanminiatures | 11 Oct 2009 7:33 a.m. PST |
Yeah Tom, he does have some buggy elements, doesn't he? Also reptilian. But these are beasts and I don't see them as having leaders. They are as likely to eat each other if they can't find easier prey! |

15mm or not, xenomorphs come in all shapes and sizes, and even the lil' ones can be downright deadly. So noted for future acquisition. Leland R. Erickson Metal Express metal-express.net

@ Khurasan Wouldn't they be a hazard for Pelagic troops as well? Do you think they would see play like Warhammer 40K infiltrators or a random hazard for both sides? |
khurasanminiatures | 11 Oct 2009 7:44 p.m. PST |
They handle them the same way they handle embedded Parasachnids -- a deadly pheromone is released in front of the advancing regiments. |
khurasanminiatures | 12 Oct 2009 9:58 a.m. PST |
Of course, the pheromone doesn't always work

OK Jon I think I found the perfect biggie for these fine fellows. link It was in the Star Wars Fringe series called I think Acklay 13/60 I will have some better shots of it posted on my website probably tomorrow. The pictures I took of it this morning were pretty rushed and blurry. |

Cacique Caribe | 13 Oct 2009 10:46 a.m. PST |
When I get them, I am going to take a few and extend the back of the head a bit, much like . . . Idolomantis diabolica link TMP link That, and a slightly different painting scheme, will give me the option of having a different "caste".* And I'm also getting these: TMP link I think they might go well together in a pan-insectoid army, don't you think? CC * I might even get a few of these: TMP link |

Khurasan (Oct 10): "I'll get them out to the caster after I get them but it will probably be a month or two before they are available, so no crack pushing involved." Are we there yet? CC |
khurasanminiatures | 04 Nov 2009 11:19 a.m. PST |
They are one of many batches of models sitting at the caster, others including the new space demons, the Felid attack transport, and a few mystri island things I know some of you will like, including the formidable Savannah masters. Still within the window I had originally mentioned though

I know. You are definitely on schedule. But I feel like a kid in a candy store, waiting for the next batch of goodies to come out of the oven. I can already smell the goodies . . . Have wallet, will buy. CC |

I have the castings, and have sent them off to the painter. A few weeks, I'd say. When you don't sculpt them and don't cast them, things kinda happen when they happen, unfortunately. |
GeoffQRF | 30 Dec 2009 12:33 a.m. PST |
That is often true even when you do sculpt and cast them :-) |
