could anyone tell me if ACW redoubt enterprises mix well with foundry ACW figures for size and detail,I have a lot of foundry and perry ACW figures which i think are excellent and mix well together and would like a little info before buying some redoubt, any pictures would be greatly appreciated

I *think* they're similar in size, but don't have any Foundry ACW handy to double check, so get a second opinion there. Detail-wise, yes Redoubt are a good match – the ACW line is probably Redoubt's best range, and certainly it's most consistent. Lots of pics of Redoubt figures on AndyMac's site:

(Several other galleries on his site have some Redoubt ACW in them, but this one's pretty much all Redoubt.)

Redoubt figures will be much larger then the Perry Brothers work. Old Glory and Saber and Sash figures will be a better match for the Perry figures. The Perry figures are beautifully sculpted and have a wide range of uniform styles and drill positions. Who could ask for more?

TMP link – Note the number of comments saying OG and Redoubt are close matches for size. (Redoubt have a reputation for being giants, but the ACW range isn't….)

I have both – the old-school Foundry are a little smaller, but only a little – they seem to mix pretty well

I think "close match for size" must mean something very different to some folks than it does to me.

On the other hand, I haven't started drinkin' yet this morning.

I think they mix well with Foundry. Though Fondry are a bit smaller to my eye.

Redoubt and Foundry mixed on the same bases, works for me, perhaps not for aecurtis.

You can make your own mind up.

I have a pile of Redoubt figs. Cheaper than Foundry and they have minor variations in pose which means they don't look like "Toy soldiers" all in a row.

Anyway, I could not be happier with them. The seperare heads are a mnor pain as you really have to drill them, but it more than gets made up by having such flexibility in what you make, (and adding more poses by head turns or tilts).

People, like minis, come in different sizes. I used to be a staunch, one brand one base kind of guy. About 2 or 3 years ago I had my mind changed by FireZouave here on the forums.

Now I mix and match as much as possible and am very please with the results. Redoubt tend to be a bit bulkier but if you paint them the same they should mix in quite well.

Redoubt ACW mix OK (if you are not too a…l about some minor variances) with most lines! If you are a…l about small differences, then don't mix them . Your choice, your stuff! Renegade seems to be one of the few larger lines that some folks dislike mixing the most. I tend to agree, and think they need to be used seperately, but some likely think they mix OK also! Totally a personal taste issue here I think!
