Does anyone know anout the Kings of War minis. They look to be a knock off of GW, but I have seen no pictures, no idea if they are metal or plastic. The prices seem affordable, but I have nothing to compare them to and no pictures could be found on line.

I was also asking about them – some information in this thread

They are plastic, but I've seen no pics either.

They are plastic and they've posted a photo on their site. However given the angle of the shot and the quality of the photo, it leaves a lot to imagination.

The elves, based on the concept art, look like they'd pass for GW style high elves. However I could easily see them as Dark Elves as well. Probably work well for Celtos and Chronopia too.

Based on the pricing I've seen from a release from my FLGS, they're quite competitive, at about $1 USD a figure or less.

Mantic were offering free samples a short while back. You could have requested your free sample and had them in your hands by now!

They are a frail, spindley sort of elf. The free scouts I have measure about 25mm to their eyes, and 28mm to the top of the helms. Their upper theighs and their waistes are about the same dimensions, 3mm across give or take half a mm.

Elves are already weedy in my book, but these are far too weedy for me. They look terrific painted in the photos on their website. In person, they look like they would fit into the GW Lord of the Rings game okay (I don't have that game or their minis, but I've seen them in stores).

A plastic GW Orc arm is thicker than the entire upper torso of one of these elves. They do, however, almost look each other in the eyes (elves eye-level is about to the Orcs teeth).

So IMHO … nicely sculpted, too weedy for use in WFB with other more heroic-scaled minis. But YMMV. Should fit right in with GWs LotR figures.
