My flgs has the opportunity to order some elf minis from "Mantic Games", but I can't find out much about them – scale, quality, etc.

Google has not been able to help me.

Has anyone actually seen these? What scale are they? Can they interchange with other fantasy minis – and which lines?
Does anyone have pictures of the actual minis (I've seen box art pics)?

From the wording sounds like they might be plastics. They look like 28s but you'd be better off asking on their blog.

Thanks CC… Still not much to go on, but better than nothing.

Hiya!

Glad to see this question and, as I am currently working at Mantic Games, I can answer this question. The scale of the miniatures is 28mm, so cloudcaptain was spot on. They are compatible with any 28m fantasy gaming system currently on the market.

The are multiple options to follow the updates about Mantic Games. One is the above mentioned blog manticblog.com, where it is also possible to subscribe to it using RSS. The official site manticgames.com is currently running as a teaser site, but the full site launch is not far away. It is possible to subscribe to the newsletter to the teaser site. Mantic Games is also on facebook, so feel free to join us there as well.

@ takoda,

Thanks for the links. My problem is that my FLGS needs to decide whether to preorder sets (and how many to preorder) through their distributor, and asked me, as one of the resident miniatures gaming experts/know-it-alls for a recommendation.

The 28mm scale is not very consistent across the board, with serious size differences between various manufacturers' "28mm" figures – GW even has two distinctly different "28mm" scales (LOTR and WHFB).

I would truly love to see some pics of your minis side by side with other manufacturer's minis, to get an accurate idea of scale/compatibility. While it may not be possible for the company to post such comparison pics, I was hoping someone who had access to preview/prerelease minis could do so, and post a link here.

We are soon sending out samples to our different distributors, so hopefully your local gaming store will get some as well.

If you have the chance, then we are also attending Gen Con 2009, where you will be able to see the miniatures live.

GenCon is more than a little bit beyond my budget, so I guess we will wait and see if the distributor sends and samples to my FLGS.
