Am I the only one to notice how few there are out there?

No – Shadowforge noticed there were few female troops out there – sadly, they have done all fantasy/sci-fi in 28mm!

Seriously, good point – especially as there are substantial numbers of women in most developed world militaries

Peter Pig does some great 15mm female soldiers in their Hardened Militia line. I plan to use them for colonial militia in my SF game (not just the female figures, the Hardened Militia in general ;)).

I really like the Peter Pig figs!
But what I really need for my Ak-47 army
is school girls in school uniform with AK-47's!

Are these it?

If so, how would the Hardened Militia as a whole compare to my Rebel Minis US Special Forces and US SWAT in size?

Thanks.

Unlike Sci Fi where you can accentuate the female form, 1st world 15mm Moderns in cammies, armour, webbing and helmets doesn't really lend itself to representing females in the same way.

The PPig Hardened Militia are different because they represent militiawomen in shirts and caps. No chest rigs, no armour.

GZG does have some female rifle troopers in their new NAC Marine range, but apart from the fact they are slighter in build and facial features than their male counterparts, you wouldn't know unless you examined the miniature up close and it's lost on a stand of 3-4 at normal game viewing distances. The helmetless female figure in pack SG15-A10 is definitely feminine but a different matter.

There was a touching article in the Telegraph Magazine about US military casualties with a feature on an American servicewoman KIA, either with last saturday or sunday's paper. In tribute:

To be honest, in 15mm… not sure you'd ever know:

I think you guys are absolutely right.

I'm thinking of adding longer hair to some of the "smaller" military figures I already have.

What do you think? It would be for troops 5-15 years into the resistance, so following strict hair regs would be the least of their problems, right?

Well, I have suggested these on numerous occasions, without success thus far:

Just the type of uniform to keep the morale up on a remote Moon Base, or under the sea in a Skydiver submarine.

I think you will agree that they definitely stand out a bit from the men in uniform.

Unarmed, and weapons armed variants, if you please.
