I am getting ready to start up the next Broadsword Adventures Play by Forum game over on The Speakeasy. I decided to post the in progress shot of the board so that players would have some idea what to expect and could design their characters appropriately.

This is the foreign quarter of the city of Niznhy. It is filled with narrow winding streets, multiple level buildings, and a separate raised temple area.

Anyway, here is the quick shot I took of the unfinished board.

As redzed stated over on The Speakeasy, by going to multiple levels you can get more out of the space. It takes more work with either building multi-story buildings, or in my case, purchasing a bunch of them from Miniature Building Authority. Players who want to explore this small section of the city will have a lot more options that if the board was a single level.

The set up will also be good for an Indiana Jones game or even a spy game.

I still need to add some little touches to finish it as well. There needs to be some refuse and barrels and such added. This is a BAD section of the city after all.

I like what you did with the place.

Looks like a fun board to play on.

Am I right that there's no hidden interior level -- the roofs or upper stories don't lift off to reveal the insides of the buildings? That was probably smart; for the type of game it looks like you'd play on that board, the building interiors don't add a lot of value. Also less work for you modeling and painting those rooms.

Actually, the interior is accessible for all the buildings. Players will be able to slip in windows, knock down doors or simply ask to be invited in. :-)

But I do expect much of the action to take place on the rooftops and in the streets.
