Howdy
I don't frequent TMP too often these days, so apologies if this issue has been covered to death.

Is Fox still alive? Or is this a case of dreams not aligning with reality?

Yea good question….where are those gorgeous WWII minis I saw not too long ago????

nazrat31 May 2009 4:32 p.m. PST

Here's the last mention of it here on TMP over a year ago-- TMP link

I had completely forgotten about the line since it has been so long. Perhaps Tom is working away on it and it'll all get released at once in the near future…

A guy can DREAM, can't he?!!

The issue is Tom Meier has bills to pay so work on this line is agonizingly slow. Work continues (I spoke to Jim Fox about it about 8 weeks back when he dropped by the shop).

Still no word on a release though…

I saw the figures at cold wars over a year ago. I do not do much WW!! but I will buy those as they are some of the nicest I have ever seen

Fox can be found at the Iron WInd Booth. He may have some product @ origins this year. Only way to find out is to show up and ask him =P

Great to hear it lives. Must say, despite delays and frustrations, I would still buy.
Good luck to him.

Yes!
Mr Fox, when you sell them, we will buy!

Top Gun Ace01 Jun 2009 6:59 p.m. PST

I'm not so sure.

Given the lengthy wait, I think it will take a 50% discount off the retail price for me to consider them. ;-)

Yes, of course you're right, Ace. We would not sell out children or internal organs to buy these minis. Instead, Mr Fox should sell them at a heavily reduced price and maybe we will buy them as a service to him.

maybe we will see them yet!

It'll be four years this June since photos of a rather complete set of greens were first released. What a shame, such nice looking sculpts gone to waste.

I think people just dont buy enough 1/48 figures making it harder to invest into production…I would but there are to little of us comparing to 28mm
Those figures are fantastic.

I don't think it'll ever happen. Fox had a great opportunity five-plus years ago to release this line before 28mm had a firm foothold. Now it's too late. 28mm is now too entrenched and the window of opportunity had closed.

It's not like 1/48 figures are not available for wargaming if you look around, but how many people buy 1/48 figures from Tumbling Dice or Northstar, compared to 28mm? Not a whole lot.

Sure, some will buy if Fox ever releases these because Tom is bar none the best sculptor in the business today, but it still doesn't 'pays the bills.' LUSITANUS is right, doing 1/48 isn't good business sense. Otherwise his GOTHIC LINE would've had lots of 1/48 by now.

You are right my friend sadly the market is not big enough, the days of multi scale productions has sort of shrunk because of many factors.

Another great 1/48 production is Enemy Lines if memory serves me their sculpts are still in the market like mine, and they have great Fallschrimjagers and 8th Army, fantastic quality for te Monte Cassino actions and more. There might be others but too dispersed.

But I am just about to release many 28mm figures you will be amazed, something new!!!

Can't wait. I love surprises.
